What types of technical programs do you offer and what are the admission requirements?

We offer Initial Teacher Training programs in various subjects such as primary education, secondary education, and post-16 education. We also have a team of subject mentors who provide additional support to trainees in their subject area.

You are provided with an amazing support team from day one, with a cohort lead, support tutor and the whole SCITT team at your disposal, should you need help on specific topics. Each SCITT tutor has their speciality and their experience is such a huge help. In addition, you have access to a wealth of material and resources –the journey to becoming a teacher is challenging, especially balancing work and life but it is a journey I would take again in a heartbeat. From advice on anything you need help with to a vital network of colleagues and friends, the team are there to support you through each step and even as deadlines are looming, you never feel as if you are on your own. I know I have made life-long friends from my cohort and I feel as I near the end of this year, that I am now part of something that will remain a familiar face throughout my career. I have had advice on prepping for interviews, essay PDT feedback which has pushed me to do better and most of all, I have loved having the opportunity to work with such a brilliant and inspiring group of educators who have guided me towards wanting to become the best teacher I can. If you go in willing to embrace everything, you will come out the other end with the best start you could possibly wish for – in my opinion, an outstanding training programme in every way. These placements are supported superbly by outstanding professional studies that are always well-received by all students.
