  Horrendous company, don’t use them. Completely unprofessional from the start. I should have noticed warning signs when they didn’t come to view the area before making the quote. Never gave a time of arrival, just turned up before 7am. 2 men who had a terrible attitude. Kicking their equipment around. Been on the job for less than 2 hours and started rolling out the new turf on a completely bumpy area which hadn’t been prepared. Still lumps of old turf left in place. Went out to raise concerns and asked for the manager to come and take a look which was refused. One of them said ‘well if you think you can do the job better yourself.’ Said they had 3 other jobs booked in today. I asked why they were rushing and they just tried to fob me off with my garden being unlevel to start with. The manager eventually rung me and ended up cutting off the phone. Resulted in me having to call off the job. They unloaded all the old turf back off the truck and left. I’m not an unreasonable person but this was a completely terrible unprofessional job and now I’ll have to find someone else to rectify it for me. AVOID!!!

  I got the lawn replaced beginning of 2020 but the new one is full of weeds and bad patches where the grass is less dense with bold bare spots see the images below, (it was supposed to be top quality Rowland), I contacted them for a post sale advice how to fix those problems and I did not receive any reply. Edit 2022. I posted this in 2020 and the issues came out only after 5 months. The reply below comes 2.5 year after my post and my emails which were not replied at all. I appreciate the lawn need maintenance but I had to call another complany to have it replaced completely only after 2 years. I hope you would agree with me that this is not acceptable and far from professional standards. Kind regards

  Very poor quality lawn - not level, full of gaps, and not prepared properly so half of it has died and will need re-doing.

  Its been 6 months since i had my lawn laid by Surrey Lawn Turf Company, you would think they do a good job with the positive reviews here. My experience has been anything but, my lawn after 5 months of constant care and attention, is not level and is up and down, to be honest i could have done the exact same job, but i wanted it done properly so aid "professionals" to do it, it looks worse them before as its so uneven. They is mushrooms growing in the lawn, which im constantly removing trying to keep it as much lawn as i can. The worst part, the phone lines don't work or go through, they ignore emails. I dont care how busy you are, if you can't offer after service you should not be in business. Hopefully this review deters a few going to them for work. They did set a day and arrive promtly on time, which is great, everything therafter has been downhill to say the least, a bit like how my lawn looks

  Sharing similar frustrations to those posted by Perry. These guys laid my lawn in October. I have been trying to contact them by phone & email for months now as the state of the lawn (that cost me £1.8k) is SHOCKING!!! I occasionally get a generic copy & paste email response with tips on how to improve the lawn. Fact is I shouldn't have to so soon after having it done. No one has the courtesy or professionalism to pick up the phone and discuss resolution options. Won't be recommending. Be wary!!

  Have emailed twice since having lawn laid but not replying. Despite following after care to the letter, the lawn is very patchy and has mushrooms growing all over. Just want advice but as will not respond through correct channels, I am forced to leave poor feedback. I have seen your response saying you emailed but that was only after this review and you did not address the bare patches. You say that the lawn will require reseeding in the spring; this is on a lawn that was laid by you 3 months ago. I have again left you messages and emails but you do not return my calls or respond to any correspondence. I would NOT recommend this company

  I totally agree with Perry Laithwaite's review. We too had our lawn laid by Surrey Lawn Turf company and followed the after care as stated. Our lawn is also Patchy and full of 80 un-slightly Dog Lichen (fungi like giant mushrooms) and continuing to spread. We have contacted the company a number of times via email and phone messages for advice on how to rectify the situation which they obviously have caused as we did not have this before in our lawn. As this has been going on for so long I cannot leave a good review. I would appreciate some form of communication from the company to solve this problem as a matter of courtesy......

  Sussex Lawn Turf Company are absolutely superb! The communicating and estimating (to my measurements and photos) was all done very promptly and on line with no payment up front, I paid in full on the day of fitting. The job was done quickly and superbly using first class materials. Excellent aftercare instructions were left with us. The lawn is growing fabulously in December!! Full marks and thanks to Beth and James!
