Sunuser don't seem very organised. I asked for a quote for solar panels in April. They asked for pictures which I sent. Then they sent me a link to a survey that I couldn't access. In June they asked some more questions which I answered. In August I was told the person I has emailed last had left the company and I would receive my quote soon. Today in November I was sent another survey to fill in. This was much too late as I've aready had panels installed by another company now.

I was having solar thermal panels fitted to my mother's house through the Government Green Homes grant back in late 2020 / early 2021. Originally the scheme was to have been provided by a Pocklington firm but they, like many others, removed themselves from the scheme because it was so badly administered by the Gov. department - step in to save the day Sunuser, Leeds. I have two parts to this review. 1. How well Claire Crossland steered me through the debacle that was a very ill thought through Government scheme advising me what pitfalls they had and how to deal with them - what a godsend! 2. Sunuser had problems with the installation and never once stopped from getting the issues sorted to the extent that they had to completely remove the original tank and fit a completely new one. I cant thank them enough because I was having to supervise all this from Edinburgh with a very elderly mother in York.

Call out charges are very expensive, they came to check my solar heating system, it's just 1 person spent for 10 to 20 minutes quick check and he charged me £120.

It was through reading the reviews on this company that made me contact them to service my solar hot water system. Friendly receptionist, gave me a price and booked me an engineer for following week! Engineer was friendly and cleared up any mess. Will certainly use this company again.

Great investment and good service from Sunuser. Solar water panels installed 2nd January 1985, panels and controls updated only last year. Still producing hot water all year. Main gas boiler off all summer. First solar array, 6 panels, went in on 9th December 2012 with a further 6 on 21st January 2015. First array has just clocked up 10,000 kw and the later one has made it to 5,500 kw already. 42% of investment recovered from FIT payments plus reduced fuel costs all round. Return is approx 9% tax free on the investment and keeps on earning. NPower pay me a lot more than I pay them in a year and their charging for gas as well. Well done Sunuser Richard Newman Fareham

Our 6 year-old south-facing Sunuser panels provide very hot water, yes, but only in full sun. In Winter we might get 55 degrees if it's sunny. In Summer we can get 85 degrees. This brings its own perils - touch a hot tap or pipe momentarily and you will get scalded. So not suitable if you have children. Whatever the season, if it's at all cloudy, we have to put the gas on to get hot water. There's a heatwave just now but the system isn't giving us any hot water and nothing on the control panel says why it's not working. We bought the house with the panels already installed. We would never in a million years buy such a pointless system ourselves.

We have had solar panels for hot water for 30years. I replaced the roof lagging once. Our record water temperature was 86c last week. The best investment we ever made. Do it.

We had our panels (4 of) installed fifteen years ago. During the warm months the hot water controller from the central heating is off. As a former efficiency engineer what impresses me most is that during the cold months our panels lift the base water temperature in the tank quite a lot - saving on gas usage. Best investment we have ever made.

The replacement panels took a day and a half of very hard work by Sunuser engineer Kevin Wilkinson to install. He did an excellent job and left everything spick and span. Another engineer Came a few days later to check that everything was as it should be. The new panels are a complete relevation - in the 16 days that have elapsed a total of 74 hours have been generated in generally poor and gloomy weather

My wife and I chose Sunuser over 20 years ago to install solar collectors on the roof of our Chichester home. It has proved to be possibly the best home product that we have ever purchased. It has never gone wrong, works as well now (and looks as good) as the day it was installed, and gives us between 1,800 and 2,200 hours of free solar power every year. The more hot water we use, the more we get. The system has more than paid for itself.
