This au pair agency was very helpful in finding the perfect family for me. They were very quick to find me a family and in two weeks everything was finalised. I would definitely recommend this au pair agency. They are very reliable.

I have to say, I struggle to believe the other reviews I've seen are about this company. Maureen went above and beyond to find a great au pair for us and the kids love her so much. She is really part of the family. Good rates, good attention to detail and couldn't be happier. Can't recommend Maureen and Sunflower Au Pair Agency enough

Really good agency who helped my partner and I find an au pair. Maureen was always friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to find someone who the kids got on perfectly with. I have read some old reviews and not sure if those people truly understood the service or had unreasonable expectations as my dealings with Sunflower have been nothing short of superb and never had any issues at all. I am quick to write a negative review where necessary and quick to write a positive review where I feel it is warranted and it is certainly warranted here. Best au pair I have ever had stay in the house.

Would not recommend this company to anyone. Unfortunately after payed the fees and had one nanny/ housekeeper on trial the company did not provide with the replacement but was forcing us to keep the current unsuitable candidate ! When the candidate arrived to the house she was not trained to accommodate the family needs as was promised by the company. She could not speak three languages. In fact she should not speak any grammatically correct language. Most shockingly Maureen was unprofessional enough to tell us that we need to provide this unsuitable candidate with the housekeeping training ! The situation became even worse when we discovered that the candidate was expressing inappropriate behavior towards our toddler. When we confronted her, she started to cry and apologize, saying that the child was not listening to her !!! All this was documented on the camera in case we had to have the lawyers involved! The nanny that was sent to our family by the Sunflower au pair company, was not capable to perform a simple housekeeping tasks that resulted in damaging our property! No one has offered us to pay for the damages! Further more we have found empty bottles of alcohol in her room after the candidate has left the house ! Disappointed beyond believe.

I have to say this was my first experience of an Au Pair agency, and I should have listened to the warning in my head. I was quite clear on the information shared, and received some profiles after calling the agency to chase them up as I didn't even receive confirmation they had all the information required. The Au Pair I interviewed, stated she hadn't received any information about me, other than a phone number and few details (none of the pics etc). Anyway, when I then arranged to hire the Au Pair, I had to asked the company how this was arranged, did they sort fights, did I, should I pay etc. Having not done this before I was expecting at least a kind of Q&A quide, or a quick reference guide or something. When the Au Pair turned up, it was clear there had been no discussion with the agency, either in Spain or in UK around suitability, or matching, as not only was she not suitable for my family, but she also didn't really want to be an Au Pair, and was forced into this as a cheaper way for her to learn English at the request of her family. I did share this feedback with the agency immediately, and advised that I felt it would be damaging for Sunflower reputation and not the best psychologically to place the Au Paid with another family, when she was not suitable, and was clearly very sensitive and timid. The Au Pair had her drivers licence, but made it clear she didn't want to drive in the UK as she was scared, yet I was made to pay the extra to Sunflower for a 'driver' when I didn't need or request anyone with a drivers licence. Despite my feedback, and the Au Pairs own admission she wasn't suitable and didn't want to drive, the agency continued to provide her with details of potentially suitable families with young children again, and where she would have to drive. Clearly there is no consideration given to matching families and therefore the wellbeing of both parties, it seems to me that this is purely about taking your money then tough luck, leaving either the family or Au Pair to sort it out. Ultimately our Au Pair went back home to her family, which I believe was the right decision for her, but this has left a very bad taste in my mouth and put me off dealing with an agency again. What I have learning in hindsight is that Sunflower do not appear to be registered with BAPAA, and I would therefore recommend if you are looking for an Au Pair that you look at this registered body first to ensure that any agency you are dealing with has the approved credentials which may mitigate the risk of what happened to me, happening to you.
