FAQ

What is the teacher-to-student ratio in your Montessori classrooms?

At Sunbeams Pre School, we maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio in our Montessori classrooms to ensure personalized attention and guidance for each child. Our ratio is typically around 1:10 or lower, depending on the age group and classroom size.

How do you incorporate technology into your Montessori curriculum?

While Montessori education emphasizes hands-on learning and real-life experiences, we do recognize the importance of technology in today's world. We integrate technology into our curriculum in a thoughtful and age-appropriate way, using tools such as tablets, interactive whiteboards, and educational software to enhance learning and engage students.

Do you offer any after-school programs or extracurricular activities for students?

Yes, we offer a variety of after-school programs and extracurricular activities to enrich our students' experiences and provide opportunities for exploration and growth. Some examples include art classes, music lessons, dance classes, and sports teams.

How do you assess student progress and provide feedback to parents?

We use a variety of assessment methods to measure student progress, including observation, work samples, and formal assessments. We also provide regular feedback to parents through parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, and informal check-ins. We believe in open communication and collaboration between teachers and parents to support each child's development.

What is your approach to discipline and classroom management in the Montessori environment?

In the Montessori environment, we focus on fostering independence, self-discipline, and respect for others. We believe in positive reinforcement and redirection rather than punishment, and we work closely with each child to develop their self-regulation skills. Our classroom management approach is centered around creating a peaceful and harmonious learning environment where each child feels valued and supported.

My daughter loved every minute of her 2 years at Sunbeams Pre-School, and having done both a Montessori setting, and a pre-school, she really had the skills she needed to start "big school" when the time came. They are learning constantly, without even realising. There is a real sense of community, the children are lovely and the staff really care. The fact that the staff turnover is so low is a testament to the nursery. I wouldn't hesitate is sending a child there again. Well done Sunbeams.
