Dog Wood Only This review is for the dog wood enclosure, will start with the positives which is good fencing and parking. I read some reviews before booking and frankly I can't believe they have been to the same place! This is a very small fenced enclosure where basically you feel like your in jail. It takes around 45 seconds to walk its entire length. I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. I won't go on about the saturated ground and the fact that majority of the tiny space was so badly sodden its unusable as that's our lovely weather in the UK but come on seriously this is not fit for purpose. I left and went to find somewhere decent to walk my dog for free.

I would normally rate the dog field and wood as 5 stars however we arrived this morning and someone in the very near vicinity was shooting. We take our dogs here as they are noise sensitive and have had to stop visiting other dog fields due to the noise and this morning rather than getting our 55 minutes we had to leave after 20 as they were both absolutely terrified. I understand this is not Sumners fault but it totally ruined the experience for our dogs!!

Lovely place, nice setting, but left without being served. Think I might have been standing in the wrong place at the bar, but was the only person present and staff smiled but left me standing there then served the cyclists who came in after me. Went elsewhere.

This place has not changed over the years, still fantastic service, great food & cakes, a friendly cat called Mouse that spent the night with us & a cracking pub is 5 mins walk away. Toilets are still immaculate, and can't wait to go back.
