We went on a guided tour of the indoor museum. Paul (our guide) was extremely knowledgeable and provided a lot of very interesting facts. The exhibits ranged from large industrial machinery to a co-op shop window. There is a cafe with plenty of seating. Toilets are clean and well maintained. The shop has a number of gifts, toys etc which are very reasonably priced. There are a number of exhibits outside including the miners row, the sweetie shop and the mine. There is a lovely walk around the site and a play area. I would recommend this museum and hope to get back again.

Always enjoy a visit to summerlee, especially the big machine room, but you can tell the outside areas are really suffering from a lack of investment.
