A large wonderful park. During summers people play tennis ball and some times hard ball cricket. A long walking area, a small tennis court. A wonderful place to excersise. During some time there could be a chance of mugging,so please try and move in groups. Playground: Good place to play cricket and tennis 🎾

Parks in cities, big or small are most welcome. It was lovely to watch the young and the not-so-young men enjoying kicking balls in Summerfield Park last Saturday. Unfortunately the gender divide is still obvious. What do young and not-so-young women do? We walk or jog I suppose. There are good walking and jogging paths leading to Summerfield Park. Summerfield Park is small. We need bigger parks so that many activities can take place for all. There are several campaigns for more and bigger parks and preservation of existing ones in Birmingham. There is a campaign to create a new public park at the former wholesale markets site, Birmingham Smithfield. Birmingham now has an opportunity to have a large park at its centre like other major cities around the world. Will Birmingham City Councillors change their Masterplan from building on the 17 hectares Smithfield site to enabling the people to enjoy what a large park in a city can offer? Private courtyards, as in the Masterplan, are not open space for all. Surely a city proud of its Clean Air Zone could find no better enhancement than having a large city centre park. Dear Councillors think of "profit" in terms of good health.

Amazing space and the best walks within central Birmingham. Leads to Harborne the Edgbaston reservoir and the canal to brindley place. So underated.
