We spent 5 days at Breaday Gill and were sad to leave. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and our gift basket was personalised with lots of lovely treats. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, everything works, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Lorna and Chris were very helpful hosts who went out of their way to answer any questions we had about the local area. Silpho is such a special little place - totally off the beaten track. The cottage was a great base to explore Robins Hoods bay, Whitby, Staithes, Goathland etc (20 - 60 mins drive to each) and it gave us the most wonderful experience of the North Yorkshire Moors. We were there in May and the meadows were all in bloom. Lorna invited our sons to feed the lambs with her and we have been dreaming of living on a Yorkshire Farm ever since! We live very far away but I do wish that we may visit again.

I’ve stayed here a few times now and I love it more each time. It really is a home from home. Lorna and Chris are amazing hosts. The views are breathtaking and it’s incredibly peaceful and only a short car drive to several towns. Can’t wait to go back.

A charming, modern and spacious cottage with tons of character 15 minutes away from Scarborough and 30 minutes from Whitby. Very well equipped and looked after with all gear needed to cater for a family of 4. We loved staying there in July 2019. Lorna and Chris are fantastic hosts. They stayed in touch from early on the day until we got there at around 7pm to check in. Lorna showed us around and made us feel well at home. We look forward to going back!
