FAQ

What types of pottery do you offer?

At Studio Pottery London, we offer a wide variety of pottery including mugs, bowls, plates, vases, and more. Our pieces come in different shapes, sizes, and colors to fit any taste or style.

What pottery techniques do you teach in your classes?

We offer classes for beginners and advanced students, and we teach a range of pottery techniques such as hand-building, throwing on a wheel, glazing, and firing. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the process step-by-step and help you create beautiful pieces of pottery.

What is the process for creating a custom pottery piece?

To create a custom pottery piece, we first discuss the design and specifications with the customer. Then, our skilled pottery artists will work on the piece, hand-building or throwing it on the wheel. Once it is dried, it will go through the firing process and will be glazed and fired again. The final product is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of pottery.

What is your return or exchange policy for pottery purchases?

We take pride in the quality of our pottery and want our customers to be satisfied with their purchases. If for any reason you are not happy with your pottery purchase, we offer a 30-day return or exchange policy. Please keep in mind that custom pieces cannot be returned or exchanged.

Can you provide any references or examples of previous student work?

We have a gallery in our studio that showcases the work of our students, as well as our professional pottery artists. We also have a website and social media pages where we feature the work of our students and artists. Additionally, we can provide references upon request from our satisfied students and customers.

I used to do pottery a long time ago and wanted to take it up again, but had forgotten the techniques. I decided to have two private lessons with Gregory, before joining a foundation class, and it was delightful. He expertly demonstrated the techniques on the wheel and walked me through it and helped me as I practiced. A lovely pot and small vase were the results. I can’t wait to start the foundation classes in the beautiful studio.

Came here for a corporate evening event. We had booked out the studio, but really disappointed about the experience for the high cost. The guy spent ages doing a demonstration, which nobody could follow. There were a few helpers but they just did the pottery for you instead of trying to teach. Also at the end, the staff very rudely hurried everyone out into the rain. You can get much better classes for a fraction of the price elsewhere in London.

On Google, it’s listed that 4 class bundles are available, with tasters on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Alternatively on the website there are taster dates for Saturday and Sunday. After calling to inquire about taster sessions and class bundles, I was met by a not so friendly tone telling me to go look at the website and informing me that there are only 5 class bundles and tasters only on Saturday. The passive aggressive tone continued and in place of good customer service and helpful information, I was just told to go look at the website, which I already had done and was calling to clear up confusion about, only to be given more contradictory information. Due to this unpleasant first impression I will no longer be looking to explore pottery courses at Studio Pottery London! What a shame. Edit: On the call, I was only enquiring if the taster sessions were free from charge or not, it’s understandable that they wouldn’t be, that’s not the problem. I’m not trying to cause any trouble, just advising that you be a bit more polite to prospective customers and edit the information provided on Google under the Studio Pottery London services (and perhaps understand that the contradictory information might cause confusion) I did not call the wrong studio and do not appreciate this response. Best wishes, Ria

Had a one on one class with Eugene Chung, he is great, patient and explains clearly for beginner like myself, I will definitely go back for more classes (they are quite popular, so book early) Love the space, its organised and tidy, close to the station, its very convenient.

I booked a private class with Eugene Chung! I would highly recommend Eugene if you are keen to get pottery techniques right. Although it was a one-off session, I found that the class was appropriate for my level and just what I needed to refine my throwing techniques. Eugene is very easy-going which makes the class enjoyable and a nice environment for learning. I had taken some group classes in the past but I would recommend taking this private lesson by Eugene if you’re just starting out to get the techniques correct from the start. Eugene knows when to help you out when you are stuck during the process and encourages confidence at every step. The studio itself is lovely and has a nice big window which allows natural light in! It is also a few stones throw from Victoria train and bus station. I will definitely book this class again when I’m in London in the future. Can’t recommend it enough!

We had a private with Gregory and it’s was just incredible. It’s a beautiful setting in the heart of london, and Gregory was an amazing and kind teacher. It’s was the perfect introduction to pottery, his instructions where clear and concise, and he also shared a few of his incredible stories too. He is a very talented artist as well as teacher. Time literally flew and before we knew it our session was drawing to the end. I am completely hooked and will definitely be back for some more. Thank you guys!
