    I put strulch around my perennials and strawberries as carefully as I could. Making sure not to ‘suffocate’ the plants. However the product has burnt the leaves, more so on the strawberries. The straw also entices birds to scratch around the plants, either partially covering the plants or even to dig up the younger plants. I have removed the majority of Strulch as it’s more hassle even if it were free.

    SHOCKINGLY TERRIBLE SERVICE - I ordered and paid £169.10 for 12 bags of Strulch, this included £12.60 for delivery. I received an email telling me the delivery date and the timing would be from 08:30-17:30 and if I wanted an am/pm timing I would have to pay another £9.50! So I emailed Jackie Whiteley and kindly asked if the driver could call me before the delivery so I could get back home from my allotment and be there for the delivery. No answer after four days, after sending a second email I decided to call because the email also stated the cost of redelivery would be £45. The email also stated they may not deliver on the date I was given, it maybe later. So I was stuck! When I called, I had such awful abuse from Jackie on the phone telling me I need to understand how busy they are, it’s the pallet company’s fault and was told frankly if I don’t like it then don’t buy from them again! Jackie Whiteley hung up on me and all I wanted to know was would the driver call me before he arrived. Anyone out there thinking to purchase from this company think again! You can get Strulch from many places, to have the threat of a £45 redelivery charge and then to be shouted at when you call to query is just appalling. Having stayed in all day today, Jackie has now emailed to say it’s not coming today it’s coming tomorrow. She has paid for an am delivery. It costs nothing to be polite and courteous. I will not be using this company ever again and anyone else thinking of doing so, beware. The delivery approach is not customer friendly, the owners are abusive if you dare to call and query. Life is short ... be kind!
