Very interesting tour of the family home of the Duke of Wellington. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The exhibition about the Original Duke of Wellington his life as a military leader and then politician was very interesting. The funeral carriage is rather spectacular. Well worth a visit on one of the days in the year it is open to members of the public. No photos allowed in the house which is to be expected as it is a family home. Book tickets on line for viewing the house as numbers as limited for each guided tour.

Stratfield Saye House is the home of the Duke of Wellington who defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo. It is a private home only open for a short time during the year and entry is by guided tour only. Advanced booking recommended. The house interior is well worth a visit and the guides very informative about the history of the building and the Wellesley family. There is also an exhibition in the stables which includes the 1st Duke's impressive funeral carriage. Plenty of parking available and a nice cafe. Toilets also on site.
