Cannot recommend the academy enough to any aspiring barbers. Did my NVQ level 2 and 3 here and couldn’t be happier with the experience and one to one teaching I received. I went into the course with no barbering experience and left a capable and confident barber. In my opinion, Strap is the academy to go to if true barbering is what you’re after. Not only was I primarily taught by Papi, but all the other lads in the shop didn’t hesitate to jump in and help me whenever necessary. Had a great 12 weeks here, would definitely advise anyone interested to get in touch and have a chat with the lads before thinking about anywhere else!

I've had an incredible time learning to cut hair at the Strap and Scraper Academy. Papi is an incredible teacher and is incredibly knowledgeable about barbering. His feedback is very in depth and constructive, and has enabled me to become more confident than I'd ever expected behind the chair. Having the opportunity to learn in an academy alongside an actual barbershop meant I've had the chance to learn how work in a shop setting and shadow actual haircuts, and see the skills I've learnt put into practice. The teaching is very personalised and the small class size means that everyone is able to receive tailored advice that helps deal with their specific challenges. On top of that, Papi teaches not only how to cut hair, but a process and skillset that enable you to deliver a high level of customer service as well as great haircuts. Overall, I can't recommend the Strap and Scraper Barber Academy highly enough, the guys in the shop are great and I had so much fun learning here. I now feel completely ready to start my career as a barber.

First time here and was a great experience I had a skin fade from a student called Charlie. He was working under the supervision of the manager, Papi. Great skin foil fade with attention to detail. Charlie did a great job and I was shocked to find out this was his first ever skin fade as it was that good. Credit to his tutor Papi who was always checking everything each step of the way For those looking for a barber training school I think this place was spot on. Clearly Papi is very experienced and has a good technique around teaching his students For the haircut and beard shape up I give it a 10 out of 10 Observations with regards to training methods / tactics /meeting student needs - again 10 out of 10
