Would highly recommend Charlotte Newman for all family related issues. Her approach is one that is both firm and fair and has the client’s aim in mind. She is always on hand to assist and provide support from a legal perspective but also practically.

0 stars if possible. This Firm ask you to pay a £1000 up front which they put on your account and claim they will only use it for legitimate work. However they run up the bill on pointless emails phone calls and other pointless work. In my case Shanika Varga had two options she could've applied to the court for the relevant disclosure or served my divorce petition and applied for deemed service. She did neither and managed to spend over a £1000 on emails and phone calls. Once I realised what she was doing and raised concerns she tried keeping me in the dark about the deemed service application process so I wouldn't be able to do the work myself and progress my divorce. As a result I made some errors in my divorce case. I managed to rectify these errors to some extent by taking advice from a new solicitor at a cost of £180 but I lost a £1000 to Stowe for further delay and further problems which have further impacted my divorce case. DO yourselves a favour and use a law firm that doesn't ask for a £1000 on account up front. That way you can keep track of the work you are paying for and make sure they're not ripping you off and wasting your time at your expense to the detriment of your divorce.

I was represented by Charlotte Newman at Stowe Family Law and quite simply, she got me through the most difficult and torrid period of my life. She kept me going when I saw no light at the end of the tunnel. She provided knowledge, reassurance and comfort. And all resulting in an outcome I didn't think was even close to being achievable - especially from the starting position I was put in. Charlotte has an incredible fountain of family law knowledge, is firm in her stance, is clearly very hard working and she makes it apparent that she will fight for and alongside you until the right outcome is reached. And it was. The advice given by Charlotte was accurate at every juncture and I recommend her to anyone needing best in class divorce counsel.

Charlotte Newman Going through a child custody case or divorce is not easy, emotions running high, confusion and uncertainty. Added to this is trying to find the right solicitor that is experienced, honest and reliable. Charlotte is just that, her impeccable knowledge, professional manner and safe solutions are a few of her qualities. Charlotte was the first solicitor that represented me, after being on maternity leave, i’ve been represented by 12 others and nobody compares. I caught my self comparing everyone to her and making stating that “they were just not Charlotte”, she definitely has set the bar high. A powerful, talented solicitor who knows the law and reads the situation well. Her honesty is valued, her compassion and empathy are unwavering. I lost a major part of myself during the onset of these proceedings, however seeing a stronger female like charlotte helped me to fight my corner. She did justice by representing me. Charlotte’s advice comes from her in-depth knowledge of family law and years of experience, knowing this has helped me through the most difficult times. Powerful statements of reality and truths have resonated in my healing process and helping me in moving on. This is defiantly something rare and not found in every solicitor. Charlotte is someone that shows up for you, responsible, productive and gives you the security needed. There is no sugar coating with Charlotte, her honesty, direct advice is always explained and justified with the law and years of experience. She doesn’t see you as a case or a number but an actual human and this is what makes her different. Her empathy has conviction and is empowering. I really felt I was lucked out with getting Charlotte as my first solicitor. When dealing with the Family courts and solicitors their character is paramount; charlottes strength, resilience and determination comes from her experience and knowledge. Her hardworking nature speaks volumes, understanding her clients and delivering comes naturally. She has power when she speaks, ‘yes’ it's her job to be fearless and confidence but she oozes it. I have learnt so much from charlotte and become much stronger because of her. We have so many idyllic people in this world but someone so local and Observing her has allowed me to get my own confidence and power back, understand my rights and clarity in the outcome. Her impeccable knowledge, stringed with compassion, exceptional communicational skills and cooperation makes for an excellent solicitor. I could always be assured that she would dissect the judgment allowing space for reflection. I am eternally grateful for meeting Charlotte, my case was very complex but she did it with confidence. After being run through the mill with various professionals I am glad I had an exceptionally knowledgeable and diligent solicitor who understood me.

I called in relation to discussing a child arrangement order. The lady said I needed a public law solicitor which isn't the case as the court order in place wasn't applied for by social services. She didn't ask relevant questions to understand the case. I have spoken to many solicitors and none have said this even after viewing the court order. She seemed rather quick to brush me off. I didn't find her very helpful.

Initial impression over the phone was really good, even without speaking to a solicitor yet. They came across as organized and very knowledgeable on family law. However beyond that, solicitor came across as dispassionate and I felt like the money mattered more to them (perhaps for good reasons but it doesn’t have to be too obvious!). Considering their expensive rates, first few hours that I paid for were definitely not worth it and I personally cannot refer anyone. At least it wasn’t an entirely bad experience for me.

There is no such thing as an "easy" divorce. Emotions, sadness, uncertainty are all part of the equation. So it is - in my experience - crucial you find a lawyer that is also a person. Charlotte Newman helped me navigate a lot of turmoil both in the context of process and reason. Right up until the day of my hearing she was a real support - even a "motivator". You get what you pay for. And now I can look forward to the rest of my life!
