The customer experience the hotel sells on its website is null. On arrival, no complimentary drinks were offered, and unless you are pasted in loud designer gear, the treatment and service is that of a hostel. I was made to feel unwelcome and monitored for walking into the hotel as a guest. The concierge was clearly and visibly walking behind me when I walked in to see if I was a guest, in 2023 this behaviour is 😳. As a recipient of the LHI award, the hotel is luxurious but lacks in conveying this through its staff. I had a bad breakfast experience, but luckily, was resolved by Violet. It put me off eating at the hotel. The WiFi connection and phone network is poor, not worth it if travelling on business. I was really looking forward to the hotel and its history, but I was ghastly let down.
