FAQ

What are the qualifications of the periodontist who will be performing my dental implant procedure?

At Stirchley Dental Practice Telford, we only employ qualified and experienced periodontists who have received advanced training in dental implant procedures. Our periodontists are registered with the General Dental Council and have undergone rigorous training in periodontology and implantology.

What type of dental implants do you offer and what are the differences between them?

We offer a range of dental implant options, including traditional implants, mini implants, and implant-supported dentures. Traditional implants are the most common type and are used to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth. Mini implants are smaller in size and are typically used to stabilize dentures or as a temporary solution. Implant-supported dentures offer a more stable and permanent solution for those with multiple missing teeth.

How long does the dental implant process typically take from start to finish?

The dental implant process typically takes several months from start to finish. The first step involves a consultation with our periodontist to determine if you are a suitable candidate for dental implants. The next step is the surgical placement of the implant, which takes place under local anesthesia. After the implant has been placed, a healing period of several months is required to allow the implant to fuse with the jawbone. Finally, a custom-made crown or bridge is attached to the implant to complete the restoration.

What is the cost of dental implants and do you offer financing options?

The cost of dental implants varies depending on the number of implants required, the type of implant used, and any additional procedures that may be necessary. At Stirchley Dental Practice Telford, we offer competitive pricing for our dental implant services and are happy to provide a detailed cost estimate during your consultation. We also offer financing options to help make dental implants more affordable for our patients.

What is your success rate with dental implants and what steps do you take to ensure their longevity?

Our success rate with dental implants is very high, and we take pride in helping our patients achieve a healthy, beautiful smile. To ensure the longevity of your dental implants, we recommend following a good oral hygiene routine, including brushing and flossing regularly and attending regular check-ups with our periodontist. We also use high-quality implants and materials and employ the latest techniques and technology to ensure the best possible outcome

Amazing! Martin fitted my bridge today and I am really happy with how my appointment went. Everything was explained to me beforehand and making sure I was comfortable was a top priority. They made sure that i was completely happy with all treatment, were calming, friendly and very professional. I can't recommend Martin and the team enough.

Helen is an absolute credit to her profession. I have had some treatment today including a couple of fillings, the prep for a root canal and the repair to my veneer (which she only saw for the first time today). During my treatment I didn't feel a thing however, Helen was constantly checking if I was ok, her attention to detail was fantastic and her overall manner was exemplary. Helen also took time to explain my future treatments, her help and guidance was very much appreciated. Her dental nurse Eileen who, as always was friendly and professional. I now feel very comfortable coming back to the dentist after some recent poor experiences.

I have visited twice recently once for a check up for my children and I and follow up treatment for myself. On both occasions I really couldn't have asked for better. I had one very nervous child .... Well he came out asking if we could visit again next week. Jenny and Prabjot were absolutely amazing at putting us at ease. They got the children involved and amazed them with the x-ray photos of mummy's mouth. It has done wonders for brushing teeth without arguments!!! Jenny had a great chat with one of my sons about dental hygiene and why it was so important but in a way which wasn't intimating. Absolutely wonderful. My follow up treatment was done swiftly and with care, I was reassured and informed the entire time.

Just been to the dentist for the first time since before covid. I am so terrified of the dentist I try to avoid it as much as possible. But the lovely dentist and dental nurse I just saw made me feel so at ease. Felt like I needed to give them a review. Thank you🙂

They cancelled my appointment on arrival to the practice despite receiving a confirmation text of the appointment two days before . The receptionist said that you need to see your dentist?? I have been referred to private for root canal which I couldn’t afford . They have been bouncing about it postponing and referring me to private . I felt that I have been forced to go private which is totally unacceptable. The treatment privately costs 850£ but is a band 2 treatment available on nhs. The receptionist was rude without offering any apology till I refused then she tried to be apologetic. How can a NHS practice refer patients to private against their will? This is unacceptable and nhs patients should be referred to nhs dentists. Please avoid this practice which is disorganised and just wants to take money.
