Unprofessional staff that lack the right skills and knowledge to be of any real help. They conveniently tell you that you only struggle with what their staff are trained to manage. When I challenged this and said that I knew I was struggling with more than social anxiety they brushed it aside and booked me in for low level cbt for something I hadn’t even contacted them about. They then suggested I committed to 6-8 weeks of the wrong therapy for the wrong mental health diagnosis. Since moving back to London I have paid to see a psychiatrist on Harley Street who assessed me and came to the diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder. To conclude, if you want to be taken seriously and get the right help from real professionals you’re probably going to have to invest some big money into it. However it will be worth it when you don’t have to encounter these sorts of services anymore.

This place is a scam which takes in NHS funding to only supply 'self-help' nonsense. If you are looking for therapy, don't waste your time as it will cause further mental health illness looking. Steps2Wellbeing takes the money and provide PDF's.

Went for sleep problems and received a limited number of therapy sessions. My depression and anxiety scores got much worse as the sessions progressed. Was not offered any additional sessions or any other support despite that. Based on my experience, I must say that the service offered was inadequate and not effective.

Only had initial assessment so far, but the Trainee dealing with my call (Sophie) was really friendly, put me at ease, explained why certain questions were being asked and has definitely made me feel a lot less nervous about undertaking some form of therapy, having never had the nerve to do so before.

Great professionals with an over stretched service doing a great deal to support the community dealing with depression, low mood and anxiety. Non judgemental service. I would recommend for you to reach out if feeling in need. Best wishes

At the end of 2019 I underwent a 12 week course of CBT for anxiety and chronic depression. This is about the 3rd or 4th time I have used this excellent service, this time I am continuing to take antidepressants which together with the therapy is helping me to maintain a balance, whereas before I stopped the antidepressants fairly soon after the therapy finished. This time I had a follow up session about 2 months later to see how it was going....brilliant, it gave me that bit of extra support. I think the best approach with CBT is to accept that it is not a cure, but an Avenue that teaches and allows you to control your problems and to keep them from the forefront of your mind, allowing you to get on with life relatively normally, I still get bad days but I know how to pretty much overcome them now. So a massive thank you to STW and especially my therapist, without this the medical worries I have had over the last couple of months would have overwhelmed me, this is a highly recommended service.
