Don't waste your time. They say the help is out there and it really isn't.

Told to refer myself here by my doctor. So I did. Got a call to say they couldn't help me and I needed CMHT. Cmht then said they couldn't help and would tell Steps to see me. So doctor does a letter to Steps. They call for the second time and they say they can't help me yet again. I was expecting it.!! Considering I overdosed 6weeks ago and I'm just being tossed back and forwards between them both and no one wants to help or cares that I have had no help since being in hospital for two days. No wonder our mental health system a mess and suicide rates at an all time high. The NHS cannot cope or care.

Horrendous. The support I got was useless. I’ve been suffering with a chronic illness LC which has left me bed bound with 10+ physical symptoms for 9months. Ive been suffering from depression and anxiety as i as I went from being an active 24 year old to being stuck in bed, having to be fed food, wheelchair. Was referred here by my doctor to help with my mental health, in my appointment I explained my condition and was told to “go for a walk” “see friends” “do some knitting” , I again explained I couldn’t do those things “well you need to think of things you can do from bed”. She then spoke to me about work and I explained I couldn’t carry on teaching but I’m lucky enough that my parents are covering my bills and I got told “well you can’t live off your parents for life. You need to try get a job.” ZERO ACTUAL ADVICE. No clue how to talk to people with actual problems. Just giving text book help on how to support people with mental health problems. I left feeling hopeless and had a massive relapse in symptoms due to the stress. I would never write a negative review, but things need to be changed.

They was nice and kind to me. Help me to find all my problems and very good advice to help myself. Very good reception and lovely Lisa, my councillor. Best wishes for them and everyone that need help. I absolutely recommend them.💙

This is a terrible service that tries its hardest to do as little as possible in order to justify its existence and the public money wasted on it. It's therapists seemed to know almost nothing about the actual implementation of the therapy they were supposed to be offering and instead focused on just trying to blame the patient for the fact that their lack of meaningful help wasn't working, as a means of deflecting any questions about their dubious methods. The only people I can imagine being helped by S2W are those who don't actually have anything really wrong with them in the first place. In the end I paid for real help from the Nuffield. This NHS service is not fit for purpose.
