Claim to handle commercial law but wouldn’t take a simple case regarding leasehold dispute. Would avoid if you are a small business. They seem more interested in bigger clients

CNB/550746.00001 How unprofessional and unmannered Stephensons Solicitor. Absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior by Stephensons Solicitors which accepted the above case after checking all documents and evidences many months ago and now replying back which our solicitor can do nothing as we told to do that so. Shame on you

I would give a 0 star rating if it was available! Very unprofessional and last minute input. Found ourselves repeatedly having to send the same evidence over and over again. When our allocated solicitor get involved as her 'underling' left we had to resend it all again! 2 years later and they are now suggesting we drop our case as the Defendant has apparently found evidence themselves which they arnt sharing and rather than our solicitor back our corner, they are suggesting we go with a 'drop hands' outcome......what a joke!

CRITICAL: ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING LAW FIRM Stephenson's have cost me thousands of pounds in delaying the sale of my property. the sale which was expected to take 6 months actually took 12 months to complete. They ignored emails, phone calls and any attempt to contact them during a financially stressful situation. I was in constant contact with a para legal called Renee Burke who repetitively told me that she was waiting for external reasons that had been causing delays. In fact, I ended up obtaining many relevant documents needed for the sale of the property myself simply by picking up the phone. Please do not use this law firm for your conveyancing needs. I will be discussing this case with the legal and financial ombudsman as I hope to obtain some of, if not all of my losses back. I am not one to complain about services usually, but when the only reason this sale went through was because you threatened to pull the deal and place the property back on the market in an attempt for your solicitors to do their job which you are paying them for... I feel that it is warranted.

We started a house purches process half a year ago and still do not know what is happening. We have once passed mortgage offer expiry date but have been lucky that it was extended due to the covid, but now the file sits over 2 weeks with case manager to review and no progress whatsoever. And now they stopped responding to our emails, completely ignoring us. Everyone in the chain has completed the proces long time ago... Avoid! EDIT:/// Please do not think that anything has change after having reply from the owner to this review. We have complaind but have been told that nothing can be done and that they did everything right way. After 10 months we have been told that the bank wont give the mortgage for the house (we have tried 2 different banks), but the problem was not with the bank but with the way the solicitors have been reporting to the bank. They have been trying to force us to get deed of variation which they have been implying to the bank with each report (they wanted this done as we would have to pay them extra £500 for that). In the end the vendor pulled out as this is what have been advised to him by his solicitors as they also though that Stephensons have been giving reports to the banks so that the banks would not want to proceed with the mortgage without the deed of variation. The vendor has put the property on the market and completed sale within 2.5 months! All the other houses in the estate also have been selling with no issues. Again, please AVOID if you do not want to loose your property, time and money!!!
