This statue is a tribute to Thomas Coram, the 18th century philanthropist best known for creating the London Foundling Hospital in Bloomsbury, to look after abandoned children. He laboured for seventeen years, inducing many ladies of importance to support his cause for building an institution that was to be a home for children and orphans who could not be properly cared for. The Foundling Hospital continues today in Bloomsbury and is now known as Coram and continues to provide services to help transform children's lives. A worthy tribute to a man who can teach us a lot about showing compassion to those less fortunate. The statue sits just outside the Foundling Museum.

A little too statuesque for my liking. Nah, just wanted to dilute the single 5* review posted before me.
