The statue itself it is located in a relatively busy road but the visitor may sit opposite the road inside a small kiosk and maybe enjoy a beautiful day outside. Visitors though, must definitely visit some excellent restaurants that exist near by on Finchley Road!

This is Oscar Nemon's 1970s copy of his sculpture of Sigmund Freud started in the early 1930s in life sittings in Vienna and finished before Freud's flight to London from Nazi-occupied Vienna. There's since June 4th 2018, some 80 years to the day after Freud was forced to leave his beloved and hated Vienna, a second copy of this statue in Vienna in the second courtyard of the Medical University where Freud had so much difficulties obtaining his professorship. The difference is the plinth, which is absent in Vienna, inviting people to interact with the sculpted image of Freud. In London he is held in a much higher position - literally.

Excellent bronze statue of Sigmund Freud on the corner of Fitzjohn's Avenue and Belsize Lane. Extremely impressive casting of this great man and the detail is quite extraordinary. Fortunately they have cut out part of the hedge so you get a really good view of the Sculpture and the base with the inscription. Well worth a visit.
