If you are staying at one of the hotels in the New Forest, and need a taxi to go only a few miles from your hotel, there is a set fare of £20 one way,(October 2022). The reason given is the taxi has to come from Brockenhurst. I think this cannot always be true; our taxi had dropped off at the restaurant we were going to- just over a mile from us. Rip Off comes to mind.
