Completed an ICC assessment with Start Point Sailing , despite horrible weather our assessor Wendy was able to put four of our sailing club through a fair and complete assessment including night passage planning, She was able to put us all at ease which allowed us to display our knowledge and skills.

Did my Dayskipper practical in July 2022 - Wendy was great, v clear instructions and easy to book, all went v well. Tom was a brilliant instructor, there were just two of us students and so we had loads of helm time and scope for one to one instruction where needed. Also had a lot of fun in the evenings in what was a very convivial week! Would definitely recommend

The Day Skipper Practical course run by Start Point Sailing was fantastic. Wendy was a great host, stocking the boat with delicious food and making the whole process a seamless experience. Gordon was the best instructor one could hope for. Immensely knowledgeable and extremely practical and honest about skippering a yacht. I highly recommend this school. Not only for the week of learning I had, but for the incredible sailing around Plymouth.

My wife and I chartered 'Saphire' of Sutton Harbour for a refresher course this summer accompanied by Wendy. Firstly, Saphire was a dream and provided us with the correct level of sail for our experience. Without a doubt, Wendy was the star of the show, being able to analyse our abilities and design a learning experience that benefitted us both. From first contact to saying farewell, we were made to feel like valued customers. I would have no hesitation in recommending Wendy and Start Point to anyone of all abilities.

Brilliant day with Wendy on a one to one course preparing me for the British SubAqua Club Dive Coxswain Assessment. She has given me all that I need for navigation and VHF use. I really enjoyed the walk with safi the dog to see all the bouyage in Plymouth sound, it made it 'real'.

I completed a competent crew course last week with Start Point Sailing in Plymouth and it was a great experience. Our instructor was Greg, he is super calm and reassuring and I feel that I was able to absorb all of the information and training because of it. The south coast around Plymouth is great for learning to sail, beautiful scenery and enough marine traffic to enhance your experience. Having completed a couple of courses in different locations now, I would highly recommend training with Start Point Sailing and will be using them again in the future.
