We offer a variety of houseboats for rent, including narrowboats, wide beam boats, and cruisers. Our boats come equipped with a range of amenities including a fully-equipped kitchen, heating, hot water, TV/DVD player, and a Bluetooth sound system. Some of our boats also come with extras such as a wood-burning stove and a roof terrace.

What is the rental cost and are there any additional fees to be aware of?

Our rental costs vary depending on the type of boat and the time of year. Prices start from £595 for a short break and £845 for a week-long holiday. There are no hidden fees to be aware of, however, we do require a security deposit which is fully refundable at the end of your rental period.

Do you provide safety equipment and instructions for using the boat?

Yes, we provide all necessary safety equipment including life jackets, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits. We also give a full demonstration of how to operate the boat before you set off and provide a comprehensive guidebook to refer to during your trip.

What is your policy regarding cancellation and refunds?

If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible. Our cancellation policy varies depending on how much notice you give us. If you cancel more than 56 days before your rental period, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel between 56 and 28 days before your rental period, you will receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any refunds for cancellations made less than 28 days before your rental period.

What an amazing weekend on board Gloria. I can’t recommend Star Narrowboats enough - they’ve been brilliant. Hester was information, responsive and personable through the booking process and provided ALL the necessary information. Once the booking was confirmed we were fully aware of what was needed for the trip. On arrival, Hester talked us through everything and we had everything we need, both knowledge and the power, to enjoy our weekend. Mike and I were training by Hester before we were “let loose” and enjoyed our weekend away. Gloria is a beautiful boat and has been an absolute joy. It has everything you need on board, every little detail has been thought out (including fold away chairs for the deck ;)) and I’ve got to say, the double bed may even be more comfy than my bed at home. Thank you so much Star Narrowboat & Hester, you’ve been absolute amazing hosts and we can’t wait to see Gloria or Queenie again soon. Take care.

A fantastic holiday experience from start to finish. Hester was very helpful and informative from the initial contact, through the booking process and when I arrived to take delivery of "Queenie" for my cruising holiday. Queenie was immaculate when I picked her up and I was very impressed with the manner in which she was presented and she was fitted out with everything needed to make her feel like a home away from home. When not cruising Queenie was a great place to just sit, read and relax after exploring the local sights and pubs. The cruise to the Anderton boat lift and return was very scenic and highly recommended. One of the best holiday experiences I've had to date.

A wonderful and relaxing experience. Hester made everything easy for us, from initial contact, booking , through to the initial lesson as we set off on our adventure. The boat - Queenie - was pretty much perfect ... cosy, reverse layout, wood burning stove, and a great shower and bathroom. If you're trying to decide whether to take the plunge, and where - I recommend you go for it, with Hester and her boats at the Bridgewater Marina.
