We went for a V.W. Show. We go nearly every year and it is fantastic. The grounds are lovely for the show set-up. We have also been to a fireworks competition here and that was great. And they get you out of the car park at the end of the event quite quickly.

The grounds are a nice little walk, with geese and duck on a little island in the river. A home made climbing tree house was fun out the back. The cafe is a HUGE disappointment so bring a picnic lunch. Two flights of very steep stairs and there is the smallest choice of food. We had Victoria sponge and it was completely inedible....my tea was horrible too so a bit sad that they couldn't get that really basic cafe fare right. However, the house was really interesting inside...you have to buy a ticket that includes the tour otherwise it could all be a bit disappointing. Once inside, our guide was absolutely fantastic...so knowledgeable and kind. It was really fun seeing a selection of rooms and hearing about the incredible history of the family. A secret door, a great ceramic cat, a toilet in a freestanding cupboard...it was all really worth the visit.

We had a great day at the VW car show that was ran out of Stanford Hall, But, whilst their we decided to go for one of the tours of the hour, and it was very interesting, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and went into lots of detail, well worth a visit, their is also a cafe in the stables, which I've eaten in before and the food was lovely.
