This review has been pending for a year, and I feel like I need to write this to make others aware about my experience. My car went in for a window motor repair a year ago, alongside an MOT. The motor was repaired, and the MOT passed, with a suspension arm replacement advisory. I was quoted £500 for all the works etc, and when I sent my wife (who does not know about cars), the price was doubled. I had to jump on the phone, and after explaining that half the work was not authourised, a quick back-peddle ensued, and a final figure of £800 was agreed. I promised myself that I would never return to the garage, and that I should just accept that I'd been 'hustled'. A few days later I managed to take a drive on a motorway. The car began to vibrate as soon as we hit 75mph. This never happened previously. Fast forward a year, and I've just had the car MOT'd by another garage. Incredibly, (and I was shown underneath the car myself), there was absolutely nothing wrong with the suspension arm whatsover. Not only this, but when I mentioned the vibrating car issue, I was told that whoever had last serviced the garage had loosened the wheel balancing. My experience with Stanfiled garage was that: -they will attempt to take advantage of customers who do not know much about cars, -they will carry out works that are not approved by the client -more worryingly, will advise on works that are not necessary or and manufacture problems to that will require remedy. In my case the issue was potential life threatening, especially with a new born onboard.

Writing this response here as I am unable to reply to your sarcastic and unprofessional response below in which you have ignored all of the major flaws that I highlighted in my review. I have also now taken the time to look through your past reviews on here and notice that I am not the only person experiencing similar problems with your garage. (To others reading this, I urge you to do the same before booking in work with this garage). Firstly, and most importantly, you have still not explained why the price that I was quoted on the phone doubled after my wife was sent to collect the car. You have nither explained why the rear left tyre became unbalanced after the trip to your garage? Not only has this caused the car to vibrate on motorway journeys, but I have now had to replace the tyres on the car due to uneven wear. Thirdly, the works carried out for the MOT were done without authourisation. This is why you 'did not charge for all the time it took to rectify this issue': not because of the kindness of your heart as you wish to make it look. Advisories are, as you have stated "recommendations which may need attention in the foreseeable future or to keep an eye on". They should not be recommendations that don't require any work whatsoever. (This seems to be a theme here with other customers too). You claim that you "should have been given the opportunity to have the vehicle back to us at the time". I was operating on the value of trust (as we all should try to do in society). I don't spend time underneath my car looking at the components, so it has taken me a year to realise that there was nothing wrong with the suspension arm whatsover. I was even shown this by the new garage because I had made such a big deal about expecting to have to replace the component, on your advice. The "free of charge check" that you offer becomes invalid if I realise I have been hustled a year later. You will simply claim that it's not your fault. Finally, using the "well established company" a a validation is not an excuse. This patronises the customer, and seemingly discredits any of their claims. You could have tried to resolve this publically in a multitude of ways, at the very least including offering to investigate further. Instead you have tried to patronise me with your response, and further enraged me. I originally even left a 2 star review, despite all the problems, in the vein that when people search for lowest reviews it would not pop up. This will now be lowered to the deserved 1. I will not be visiting again, and will be sharing this event withhin my community in Bournemouth.

Can't fault these guys, they know their business and are exceptional at what they do when it comes to my experience and opinion with Audi and BMW. My partner has used their Gorscliff garage with her Vauxhall and same high standards and knowledge. I would not not take my vehicles to anyone else , regardless of what make or model and you can rest assured they know their Onions . Keep up the good work 🙂👍.
