Went here for a wedding reception. Very picturesque venue. And the price Of the Drinks were very reasonable. Would recommend this place for a small wedding reception.

The club is in a beautiful setting with a workshop and slipway on site. I was driving up to help a friend who had mechanical problems with his boat. He'd arranged access with the club and arranged a repair at their site. I drove up from the Grand Union canal enroute to Cheshire. He had also run out of gas and needed water and kindling. He had a toddler onboard and his partner is expecting another baby. One of the moorers kindly helped me carry the water to his boat. As soon as we'd finished a guy from the clubhouse shouted across to the far side of the canal. The gate is locked now. If that's your car you'll have to come back and get it tomorrow. No good deed goes unpunished as they say. When I called back to say wait a minute he walked off. I saw him enter the closed clubhouse so he was likely there in some official capacity. I found his attitude extremely unhelpful. Especially as I still had an hour and a half to travel North and had nowhere to stay. As it happens the gate opened when I drove up to it. Either by means of an induction loop in the ground or an infrared sensor. So the guy likely knew this and was just being bloody minded. It's sad to say that there's always a few of these idiots in marinas and clubs. It spoiled what should have been a successful day in helping my friend. I should also add that the club would not sell my friend a bottle of gas because he was not a member. That gives you an idea of the calibre of the people running it. If they had any sense they should see outside custom as potential new business.
