I was looked after very well by mr groenewald and other staff. Tbis is over 10 years ago now but i have to say i've never forgotten what st pauls did for me when i had a detached retina. And follow up work a few yrs later involved new lenses due to development of cataracts. I wasnt v IT savvy then (2011) so the idea of posting a review never occurred. But finally here it is and i cant thank him and them enough!!

Fantastic staff team, modern equipment and waited only 5 minutes. Dr Ghadvi was super thorough and friendly (Stephanie was also great). Coming back here to get surgery in a few months. Update: Had PRK eye surgery here a few months ago and very happy with the results.

Excellent experience from staff. Super lovely with kind nurses & doctor. Gave me the treatment I needed and correct meds to leave with. Did take a long wait but understandable since I was an emergency walk-in where they also have booked appointments to handle. Thanks again Xo

I cannot thank you all enough in this Department. We thought my Husband had a detached Retina, thankfully not. Each and everyone one from Reception, nurse and Doctor looked after us. I am so sorry at the time we were there you had to deal with an abusive patient. You should not have to put up with that. We are extremely grateful for our care.

Been going for many years. Being given a 9am appointment and not seeing anyone for nearly 3 hours is just not good enough. When nurses announce the names most of the time they cannot be heard. Very very stressful experience and one that I dread.

The staff are helpful and professional. However they just have too much to do with too many patients. I waited over 4 hours for my planned opperation that I was already anxious about with about 40+ people who had waited the same amount of time. It's like an assembly line one of the worst and exhausting days of my life.

On the 2nd of January 2023 I went to st Paul's eye unit Liverpool as I had lost almost complete sight in one of my eyes and within 4 hrs I was in the operating theatre having an operation for a detached retina today Monday the 13th of February I have just attended outpatient department as a follow up to see prof H Heimann who discharged me today as my sight has returned so a big thank you to DR Francesco who operated on me that day and to the theatre manager I only know as belinder and all the great staff on that day thank you I have seen some comments about waiting times but remember you are getting the finest treatment so a wait is expected

I'm not going to lie, the nurses are lovely but waiting four hours to be seen by an ophthalmologist just for two minutes and be given steroid eye drops isn't a good service at all. Terrible.
