I had the privilege of visiting St Mary and St Nicholas' Church during my recent trip to Sailsbury. The church is an absolute masterpiece. The architecture is so intricate, it's as if you're standing inside God's playroom. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

One of my must see churches I'm the South of England. The reason as the architecture is unlike any other in the UK from what I know. Looking at its styling is very similar to the architecture seen in I believe Italy. The building is beautiful and the stonemasonry is out of this world. I was very lucky as my friend and I were shown around the interior by one of the vicars/Tour guides and we talked for nearly 30 minutes about the history of how it came to be made and why. Fantastic meeting him and very interesting talking to him. We also had plenty of opportunities to be able to take lots of photographs of the beautiful interior as well. Must go back as my photography has improved since the previous visit. Luckily its only 30 minutes away so I can visit again and hopefully capture the interior a bit better. I have added a few photos of the front entrance and the side entrance through the base of the tower showing the individully sculpted pillars, a must see feature. Definitely recommended 👌plus you have Wilton House in the village too so try and do both

I wasn't planning on visiting, but on a whim we stopped off before heading into Salisbury. A stunning interior, with some wonderful lighting. Friendly lady looking after the church, keen to share her knowledge. What's not to like?

We were staying at Hare House in Wilton and every morning when in the kitchen we could see the rear section of the church (and sometimes sheep as well!) We left exploring the church until the final day of our holiday and it was worth the wait. Taking the opportunity to walk through the peace and serenity of the graveyard and the sunlight filtering through the trees, we walked all the way around the building before entering. As we crossed the threshold, we became aware of a morning service taking place, so we silently sat down and waited for it to conclude. Asking if it was alright to take pictures, we walked around the wonderful surroundings and the feeling of being enveloped in calm and tranquility. We said our farewell to the church and transited once again into the real world.
