My mother arrived at St Martins in June 2022 after several admissions to hospital and declining health. Her health immediately improved after arriving at the home. Her cocktail of medication reduced, she became more sociable and loved the interactions with staff and fellow residents. Her care was outstanding and loved the outings and activities which were undertaken. Sadly mom passed away after her health again deteriorated in January. St Martins worked with us to have mom brought home from hospital where she could spend her last few days with staff and family who loved her. Our only regret is that we didn't involve the home earlier in moms declining health as she loved her time at the home and we have wonderful memories.

My nan arrived here in May 2022 and all started well for the first month or so. However, she rapidly deteriorated - loosing the ability to move, eat and talk. It seemed that she wasn't getting the nursing care which she deserved. The care staff were lacking although the nursing staff were supportive mostly. Things took a turn for the worse when my nan ended up being stuck in bed for 3 months. Excuses seemed to be that there were limited staff, the lift had been broken (for at least 8 weeks) or it wasn't her turn to be taken into the lounge. Her weight continued to drop and her Ill health became worse - she developed contractures and several UTIs. Many points were raised with management via email however things were not addressed nor acted upon. We finally decided to move my nan into another care home, and gosh within several weeks she came back to life. She is now talking, moving and eating independently! Be warned - we had a negative experience here.
