I was a really sad and upset dog mum this morning at Church Crookham branch. I took my small and cute dog for a 6 month check up, having only previously attempting to use the vets for nail clipping. She does not like having her nail clipped, and they've never been able to assist us in the matter. Best advice was to file it shorter when she's sleeping on someone's lap. Well, that was tricky and difficult, but fortunately our groomer in Fleet can do it now. Might be the welcome, and smiles, the dog gets when she goes for a haircut. As we walked in this morning the vet said that she's read her notes from previous visits and she won't look at the dog without a muzzle. 'Because if I get bitten I won't be able to work.' She hadn't even tried to say hello, or be nice to the dog. No treat in sight, no idea how to approach her, FEAR straight away for a soft lovely bundle who is scared of this place. They labelled her, and and did not give her any love or respect. I understand some dogs are snappy, but they also have a sixth sense about the person dealing with them. The vet stood back and made me put the muzzle on, had to try three times to get the strap tight enough. Eventually managed and she dared come closer, seriously. I had to hold her so tight, but she started whimpering and still pulled her face out. I walked out, very upset, with my dog under my arm. And I'm NEVER going there again. And I told them. They didn't bother to look bothered, or to contact me.
