I have always received excellent medical care at SJWM practice. The doctors and nurses are the best. They listen, ask pertinent questions and provide very knowledgable advice. They always make you feel secure and comfortable whatever the situation. I would strongly recommend this practice to anyone new to the area.

The staff is always very friendly, however the ceiling has been in disrepair for almost 10 years. Unfortunately the lovely fish tank is gone, which was liked by children and adult patients alike. The new red chairs have been placed ill considered. There is bench by the window, where you could sit and look a out. It was more comfortable than on the chairs and could put your bag. Now the chairs block the bench.

This is not so much a review of the doctors surgery but the prescription service and pharmacist who works here. For one, the repeat prescription option when you ring through never ever gets answered and when you leave a message no one ever gets back. What is the point in having this as an option when you ring through? My son is on prescription formula so essentially a repeat prescription but when I request it, it’s never in the chemist the next day. Why is it so hard to process this? Luckily I’m doing it well in advance but that’s not the point. Really bad service

I would give 5 star to Dr. Mcintyre because she is always very helpful and kind with me, but unfortunately I have to leave 1 star to the woman at reception... She is so rude and aggressive every time I try to get some help or just ask for updates on my referrals. This behaviour is unacceptable. Please be professional with your patients....

Today I had an appointment for my daughter’s 1 year vaccination. The appointment was already our second attempt as the previous appointment had been cancelled last minute by the surgery. I had forgotten the red book so I tried to call the surgery to notify of my delay but I was not getting through. I was trying to focus on reaching the surgery and push the pram so I could reach the surgery. I arrived at 16:55 (so around 10 mins late) and the screen was already not accepting my booking. Then I had to wait for someone at reception to talk to me, by which time it was past 5pm. She tried to reach the nurse but she was already offline and when they check the room she was gone. Now in all that we were standing in reception and somehow the nurse managed to evaporate. Apparently no one else was able to cover for this nurse. My daughter is now once more not vaccinated, when asked to speak with someone in charge apparently no one was there anymore and I was handed by the very annoyed receptionist a blank piece of paper to write my complaint. I have been attending the surgery a few times and I have always been made wait for more than 10 minutes so I find absolutely obscene that my daughter was refused vaccinations when we are late. Not an apology nothing, I was treated with no compassion. I do get that the nhs is under pressure, but I have never experienced anything like this, most importantly never experienced treatment to be refused to children! Shame on you! Avoid at all costs!!!
