The Church of St John the Evangelist was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the Gothic Revival style. Sir Thomas Lord, the founder of Lord's Cricket Ground, is buried in the graveyard. From the back of the churchyard there is a beautiful view of the Hampshire countryside and the rolling hills of the South Downs.
