Since Covid the service has been shocking. It’s almost impossible to see a Doctor and apart from the one lovely receptionist, the rest are the reason Doctors receptionists have a bad name. They are super unhelpful to the point of rude and no one in authority there seems to care that the patients are being treated so badly. (Unfortunately not able to give 0 stars)

Receptionists are unhelpful & incompetent & talk over you when you're trying to explain something. Appointments are changed or cancelled without telling the patient & prescriptions are often mishandled. Incorrect information has repeatedly been given out without checking the facts 1st. I've had to make an official complaint to the practise mgr & even that wasn't actioned for 4months.

I have been with the practice for over 50 years and we are lucky to have such a great surgery. All the Reception and Medical Team at the practice are very polite and helpful and prioritise same day appointments for emergencies. Receptionists can not magic appointments out of thin air As a retired nurse I find it really sad that the surgery telephone message has had to include abuse will not be tolerated. No member of our Practice should have to put up with verbal abuse and it is NOT acceptable. I had to ring this morning and the receptionist was very understanding and helpful. A really caring and supportive nurse rang me back within 2 hours. On the mainland you can be waiting until late evening to get a call back They do not need the abuse they have been getting. We are lucky to have such a good and professional practice

When you actually meet them most of the staff are very nice and helpful. However getting to that stage is a real struggle.

Mostly ok but why on earth have my prescription ready for me to collect from Nottingham? Once might be a mistake but 3 times, with the last one being after I went in to get it sorted and the same error has been made again.

My 80 year old mother who has a long-standing chest condition has found it extremely stressful trying to get an appointment here, to the point she has given up. She feels so despondent at the lack of help available. Most recently, when a flare-up started at the end of August she phoned the surgery for an appointment but the earliest date she was given was end of September - one month later. Being someone that doesn’t like to ‘make a fuss’ (she won’t phone the doctor unless she absolutely has to), she booked the appointment. However, knowing her condition as she does, she asked if she would be able to get an emergency appointment before that time if her symptoms worsened. She was told no, it’s either/or - if you have an appointment booked, you cannot ask for an emergency appointment later on and cancel the scheduled appointment. We are now at the stage where she is quite unwell and in need of antibiotics but she is scared to call for fear of getting interrogated and rebuffed, or being thought a ‘nuisance’. It is not acceptable - indeed inhuman - that elderly patients (or any patient) should be made to feel this way. The last time this happened she ended up in hospital with sepsis as she couldn’t access a GP in time and looks as if we are heading that way again. As others have said, there is one particular receptionist who seems to be the issue. We did set mum up online so she could make appointments that way and avoid the stress of calling but, inexplicably, it seems that it is now no longer possible to book a GP via this channel. Just dreadful. I wonder how many other poor souls are in the same boat but have no family to support or assist them.

Most staff are very helpful when you ask for assistance, except for one. I don't know how on earth she is still working there after so many others have said the same. On a number of occasions she has put the phone down on people as well as lie about sending prescriptions to the pharmacy... She clearly doesn't know that WE CAN SEE WHAT TIME YOU SEND IT... After a phone call chasing it up doesn't count as "I have already sent it". Next time I speak to her, I will ask her name.
