I paid many instalments for the DipTESOL which I started in September 2019 over £1000 which I have now lost. I had no communication or any updates with how to proceed or what was actually happening from anybody, not even the course tutor. The COVID-19 pandemic I understand but I received no details on reopening or when the course would have restarted if at all and we are now in 2021. I ended up moving providers and completing my diploma there paying another whole course fee so that I could get it done. School did not enter anyone for examinations despite Trinity running the Unit 1 exam in November 2020 and May 2021.

In 2013, I trained for my Diploma in TESOL at St. George's and the lack of support and the outright disdain from members of staff led to my mental health worsening, which affected my study. I was seen as a burden on the staff and frankly, I was only good for the money I paid. Would not recommend for teacher training. Take your money somewhere where you are actually seen as more than your fees.

I paid in full to do the Trinity TESOL Diploma course up front. I began to do the course, but could not continue with it due to poor health. Even though I had medical grounds to request a refund it was not given to me. If you are going to do a course with them pay through a payment plan because they won't refund you the full amount. I feel that they are not a reputable company because of this. (I realise that you should normally request a refund before 15 days, but obviously this did not fit with my situation).

I enrolled in a CAE course and had a really good experience. Every minute was focussed in developing the learning skills you need to pass the exam. We practiced every day with real exams and the teacher gave us homework (more exam papers) to do at home, which she returned all marked with advice and comments to improve our writing skills. That's what I call value for money. Among language schools giving evening lessons this was the cheapest. And, for the record, I got my CAE. Same as 80% of my fellow students.
