Really lovely care home. My elderly neighbour recently chose to move in here. I was very sad to see him leave his home. I used to visit most days for a cuppa and a chat and I am very fond of him. However, he was lonely and not eating properly. He was forgetting his medication, not drinking enough and beginning to fall regularly. After two weeks in St. Dominics, he's completely transformed. Regular meals with plenty to eat, all home cooked....including teatime cakes and buns which are delicious!.....regular drinks and medication taken regularly and he's putting on weight, his balance and mobility have improved and he's far less forgetful. Most importantly, he's not lonely any more!......and all this is down to the wonderful care he receives from the staff. They're all friendly, caring, understanding and happy people who welcome visitors and provide a warm friendly environment and home. There seem to be plenty of staff on at any given time, and many activities for residents to enjoy. Independence is promoted at call times and residents are treated with kindness and respect. It's, clean, cheerful and homely and I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone seeking care for a loved one.
