I'm sad to say this charity does not deserve one star. I donated three carrier bags of items and signed up to gift aid back in April. Phoned and spoke to manager saying I have a large donation to give and asked thd sort of items they took. She was unhelpful when I questioned whether they took certain things and cut me off saying she had to go and see to someone else. Loaded car up with 21 black sacks and two boxes after the whole family and parents had a sort out. Husband set off and I phoned as a curtesy to tell them. Man in charge didn't seem to want to take them and I told him I had already spoken with the manager. Reluctantly accepted and husband said when he arrived wasn't very grateful in accepting them. I had labelled all the bags with my name, postcode and giftaid number. Had not received any communication regarding gift aid three months later so contacted head office only to be told there was no sales against our number recorded. I was in shock as there must have been over 300 items of books, clothing, shoes, cds, dvds and bric donated. The shop has either thrown the lot or not processed one item as gift aid which is upsetting as the whole point was to raise an extra amount by participating in the scheme. Even if each item was sold at a pound this would have raised an extra £75 in gift aid which could have been a treatment for someone in this hospice. I will never step foot inside this charity, donate to them and never recommend them to anyone and this is very sad but its down to the attitude , unprofessional way in which this has been treated by the staff. So it their fault entirely and they need a lesson in running the shop as clearly its not being managed correctly! Avoid at all costs.
