We had a wonderful day spent celebrating my 60th with friends. The setting is beautiful, the accomodation is clean, homely and has everything you would need. Kylie gave us a marvellous massage or facial and was really attentive to our needs throughout the day, without being intrusive. We were lucky to have the whole space to ourselves and took full advantage of the sunny weather to use the areas indoors and outdoors. The afternoon tea was delicious and plentiful. We were all able to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and tranquility of York Cottage. Thank you and we will be back!

I booked to have a private spa stay for my mother and I as a belated mothers day present. I had confirmed extended treatments with the owner (Simon) but when I arrived the therapist was unaware of the upgrades and couldn't fulfil them. The therapist herself was great but the whole point in the spa stay was for the extended treatments. I have since tried to email and contact the spa numerous times (about 4 times now) and I still have yet to recieve a response after making a complaint 6 weeks ago. Every time I ring I get the same response "management is in a meeting and will contact you soon". I still haven't been contacted and from what I have gathered this is a continuous issue of the owner booking in extended spa treatments which are then not fulfilled. Such a shame as the venue itself and the locally sourced afternoon tea was amazing, but it's apparent that management is poor and didn't even have the decency to respond. Thank you though to the therapist for making sure my mum and I were OK during our stay. I wouldnt recommend to those looking for a spa that offerrs extended treatments.

We had a lovely weekend away for my sister and her friends 40th birthdays despite the issues we had, but this wasn't a spa weekend. It's a large house (although not all rooms are in one building) with a large jacuzzi. Communication was poor. Had to ask about facilities and towels etc a few days before as no info sent, we'd booked 9 hours of treatments and didn't receive a schedule. On the Saturday morning 10am, when our treatments were due, we got an email to say the therapist was ill and no back up available. Really disappointing for a supposed spa weekend! No alternatives offered and only offered upgrade from 30 to 40 min treatment if we booked a spa day (we'd all booked 1 hour treatments!). So we'd have to pay out even more if we wanted to be compensated for the disappointment of not getting any spa treatments on a spa break. Emails to complain and try to resolve the situation reasonably were not responded to. We could have booked a large AirBnB and had a good time together, spa break this was not! In response to the owners reply, we were only refunded for the treatments which had been cancelled which you would expect. No afternoon tea was provided, this is untrue. We have had no compensation at all for the very late cancellation of 9 hours of treatments (which was apparently going to be done by 1 therapist!) or for loss of enjoyment/expectation. We only received a response to our very reasonable private emails to try and resolve the situation once our group started to post our reviews!

I stayed at York Cottage House & Spa in Bozeat for a weekend with friends. We booked the whole place for 2 nights. It wasn’t great. If you’re wanting a spa definitely look elsewhere! This is just a house with a jacuzzi and small sauna. The house itself is nice but a little tired. As per the website, there are 3 additional ensuite King rooms in a detached building on the property. I was in one of those rooms and it wasn’t ideal because it’s a few minutes walk up a long driveway from the main house so not easy to come and go to your room from the main house. Also these extra rooms are in a building that is attached to a residential property and has an internal, interconnecting door which you can’t lock from your side and I didn’t feel comfortable about that. The communication with the owner before, during and after our stay was appalling which made the whole experience very disappointing. I won’t be going back or recommending it to my friends.

We all visited York Cottage House & Spa for a 40th bday weekend. We were left very disappointed. The house & spa itself is nice although it could do with a little tlc throughout. Our group had booked hour long treatments for the Saturday and no contact had been made to inform us of times etc despite chasing. At 10am on the Saturday morning we received an email to say the therapist was unwell & our longed for treatments were cancelled. We questioned whether the treatments were ever booked in - 9 hour long treatments for 1 therapist is very intense. The management seemed dismissive & no alternative was offered that day / weekend which left us very disappointed. As the spa is small, we felt the weekend was a little wasted. They have taken 3 weeks to reapond to us.
