The nicest shop I have ever visited. The shopkeeper was an absolute delight, one of the kindest, friendliest and most genuine people I have ever encountered. From the moment I entered to the moment I left I never felt pressured into any purchase, I felt I was guided by a man with years of experience and a genuine passion for the hobby. The store itself was well stocked with an upstairs section for playing games. I've heard games are held there regularly. The people I met upstairs (as I observed a game so I could better understand the game) were just as friendly as the shopkeeper himself, amicable, friendly and wonderful to talk to. They answered my seemingly ceaseless stream of novice questions in a friendly and patient manner. I brought my younger brother with me (as he was the one that requested we go there) and the shopkeeper was fantastic, understanding that the hobby is expensive, especially for a younger person and didn't ever try to upsell or be pushy. He was wonderful, even helping my brother to consider the pros and cons of the sets he was interested in from a painting angle and showing us what sprues are. In short, I don't think I can recommend the store more highly, such a warm, positive atmosphere with a genuine, kind and understanding shopkeeper. I will not just be going back there but making a point of purchasing there rather than online. N.B: I have used the term "shopkeeper" throughout the review as I do not know if the individual who served us is the owner or an employee. I believe he was called Graham but can't assert this to be the case so have left my review as-is.

Fantastic model shop, which is a good 80 mile round trip for me but worth it. It's unusual these days to get such a good customer experience but Graham provides that in a genuine and engaging way. Huge knowledge and willing to listen and help. Great model selection and I bought paints I had been trying to get hold of for ages with no luck. Prices better than Amazon and eBay and willing to provide mail order at very competitive rates. No matter where you are, ring him, try him and see for yourself.

Great model shop, stocks a variety of models and gaming kits with a broad range available. Good stock of supplies with several great ranges of paints and hes always willing to discuss other ranges he might be able to get in. Too many towns don't have a local model shop anymore so it's great that Andover does.
