FAQ

What types of spirits do you produce?

At Springbank Distillery, we produce a range of spirits including single malt Scotch whisky, blended whisky, gin, and rum.

Where do you source your ingredients from?

We source our ingredients from local suppliers as much as possible. Our barley comes from the surrounding area, and we use water from Crosshill Loch for our whisky production.

What is your distilling process like?

Our distilling process is traditional and hands-on. We use floor maltings to prepare our barley, which is then mashed, fermented, and distilled in copper stills. We also use a combination of bourbon and sherry casks for ageing our whisky.

Do you offer tours or tastings at your distillery?

Yes, we offer tours and tastings at our distillery. Visitors can learn about our history and production process, as well as taste our spirits. We also have a shop where visitors can purchase our products.

How do you ensure the quality and consistency of your products?

We have a dedicated team of experts who oversee every aspect of our production process, from selecting the best ingredients to monitoring the ageing of our whisky. We also adhere to strict quality control measures to ensure consistency in every batch of our spirits.

(Translated by Google) A note in two stages because we did 2 different tours there. - We did the Cadenhead tasting in the cellars. Our guide was very friendly, generously poured each glass from the kegs and/or bottles and offered to sample what we didn't finish in the vials he provided to us, it was appreciated. He was attentive to everyone's feelings and open to discussion. In particular, we discovered a traffic jam there that we went to buy at the shop later in the day. - The next morning we did the "Barley to Bottle" tour. We start with a tasting of a drink at the washback bar and a quick presentation of each other before attacking the tour. A more than complete tour of the distillery (in a very small committee, we were only 4), accompanied by a retired gentleman who has worked there all his life and who comes from time to time to tell the backstage of the distillery and brings to the speech of our guide of the precisions and a different know-how. It's amazing to see a distillery still so traditional, where the presence of machines is really limited to the bare minimum. Our guide took us absolutely everywhere, right down to the grain silo. She finally left us in the hands of one of her colleagues for another tasting, this time in a cellar, directly from the barrel. We then join the washback bar for a delicious light snack (a cheese board, mussels and smoked salmon, salads). Then begins the workshop to create your own blend, with a new guide that explains how to calculate the proportions and invites us to experiment, taste and have fun. We take our time and when we are satisfied, it's time to fill our bottle! Before labeling it with our name and sealing it! We leave with our bottles, our goodies, and a smile from ear to ear! Even for me, who hardly know anything about whiskey unlike my companion, it was really a great experience.

Today it's Superbowl LVi between the Cincinnati Bangles and the Los Angeles Rams. For the occasion I created a drink to the colors of both clubs .The red for Cincinnati and the yellow for the Rams. But most importantly for my distinguished guest I opened one of two bottles of the fantastic 21 years old Springbank. It is nothing but extraordinary. It's my first time tasting this unbelievable product and it's possibly the very best 21 years old Scotch Whiskey there is ! On behalf of all of my friends here tonight , we all wish you the best ! This is Romain from Montreal Canada 🇨🇦

(Translated by Google) One of the finest tastings I've ever experienced. 4 whiskeys from the 4 distilleries that unite under Springbank for 30 pounds. All long matured. I don't get a single 15 year old from anyone else. Really friendly staff and the washback bar is great anyway.

Had a fantastic tasting here, which happened to not include any Campbeltown drams, but still great stuff. Our group of four from Edinburgh was joined a large American group and a guy from Glasgow. Andrew handled the room adeptly, and we had a great time despite the boisterous Americans with their prawn cocktail crisps and chicken poppers (would not recommend this pairing with high-end dreams, for the record).

We came to Campbeltown specifically for this distillery and it did not disappoint. Excellent tour, our guide Finley was knowledgeable and entertaining. Great value compared to the cost of some other distillery tours as well. Visited The Washback Bar every night we were in Campbeltown, can't recommend it enough.

Fantastic and informative tour by our knowledgeable guide (Craig). It was incredible to see so many different aspects of the distillery, like floor maltings and peat kilns. Also loved the take-home mini bottle of Springbank. We followed it with the Fisherman’s Lunch Platter (plus a few whiskies) at the bar, then did the Cadenhead’s Warehouse tasting.

Tour by Ali passionate and informative thank you. You get a very small dram at the end of the tour but also a miniature bottle too so made the tour great value regardless. Would be nice if there was somewhere dry to stand while waiting outside for the place to open as it says to arrive early for your tour! ☺
