After a couple of surgeries over the past six months in both Shawfair and Murrayfield, I can safely say both hospitals offer a fantastic experience for patients. The nurses are so attentive and the consultants have been a godsend, getting me in quickly for procedures where the NHS were experts in slowing down referrals and sending me back and forth between hospitals with no intention of giving me treatment. The only slight negative which I think might be getting rectified was those awfully sexist call buttons on the ward in Shawfair (picture 1). During my recent stay in Murrayfield they had the generic call buttons (picture 2) so I’m assuming the old ones are being phased out. Please ensure the female ones are replaced as they send the wrong message - that I can press a button and a women will come look after me... no thanks! All in all - great experience and will return if needed.

My wife went for an MIR scan on 2nd Match 2023 and still awaiting Mr Jonathan Cowie to contact her for the results. We have both phoned on numerous occasions and told Mr J Cowie would contact her, still waiting. I will be raising a Formal Complaint and withhold any pending payments along with requesting a full refund of payments to date.

I had an operation under the care of Dr Peter Driscoll. The staff (nurses and care staff) were absolutely out of this world. I was treated with the most respect, dignity and care. Dr Peter Driscoll, words can’t describe how good he actually is. His knowledge and expertise is second to none. I would like to thank the hospital for all the care, support to get back on my feet after months of been in pain. I would highly recommend this hospital and Dr Peter Driscoll to anyone.

Such a welcoming good experience at this hospital, very professional approach with everything from the initial consultation to the completion of my treatment. My consultant, Dr Mehat was excellent, very professional and more importantly, very reassuring as I am quite a nervous patient and I would definitely return to him to have my other cataract done when the time comes, well done. Very happy patient.

Went for surgery after the NHS wouldn’t carry out the procedure to reattach a tendon to bone. Everything from the initial consultation to the MRI scan and the surgery were carried out swiftly and to high standards. Would recommend Spire Medical for any healthcare outside of the NHS.
