I went here today and had an appointment with Dr Stephen Coogan. He reassured me and put my mind at ease. Due to NHS busy waiting times I wanted results read to me and some issues explained in detail. Lovely staff. There is no price tag on health and reassurance and I’m Glad I booked this appointment. Recommend this doctor if you have anxiety as I felt understood. Thanks S. L.R Ogden

Had Gallbladder removed 28/04/2023, from beginning to end I was treated kindly & with respect. I have dreadful anxiety & I was met with reassurance & support & not meant to feel like a pest. My surgeon Mr Tandon was great. The anesthetist' made me feel at ease too as I'd started blubbing in that room too & a lovely lady called June absolutely reassued me also. The nurse Louise who cared for me after was super kind & great to me , the whole experience made me relax (somewhat) as I have panic attacks & I held it together as I was treated so respectfully & made to feel cared for. I thank you all who were involved very very much for making my experience a positive one xx

Had a procedure here last year and couldn't fault the hospital or after care. Recommend the hospital to my partner, what a change. The consultants are amazing let me get that out there straight away, but after care is beyond shocking. From night staff sleeping to trying to apply non sterile dressings to post sergery wounds and the ones applied done so incorrectly, discharging with insufficient meds/surgical stockings. And woe betide you if you try and rais through issues to try and improve things. This hospital has really gone down hill in the last 12 months and shouldn't be allowed to operate with the levels of negligence and incompetence my partner has seen and recovered. Do yourself a massive favour. Go elsewhere with your hard earned. You will really wish you had. Spire, don't bother responding to this review asking to contact us or I'll post a picture of your response letter already received.

I was sent thee by my go as I have a carpul tunnel problem. The consultant got me to see him get my electric shock to find out the problem and then back to him only to tell me it would be 2 or 3 months to get my op. Disappointed wasn’t the word. Then a few days ago I had a call saying op would take place 20 July very disappointed as I’m in so much pain and finding it very difficult to work. I’m away on the 18th of July hopefully so can’t make this I explained to the caller. Had nothing back since?. It’s such a same when your in do much pain you can’t get the op sooner but there’s not only me I suppose. I don’t sleep at night due to pain I’m finding it hard to do my job and due to commitments even at 73 I still have to work Just saying

After my calls and follow ups, the consultant called me and spend a good time with me to understand my problem and plan for the process.

Both times I have attended this hospital, I have been left waiting over 45 minutes for my appointment, only to be told by the doctor/nurse that they had been waiting for me and the receptionists hadn't informed them I had arrived. I might have been unlucky but it's not good enough of reception to overlook this (on two occasions) when it's an nerve wracking wait as it is. The care itself is good when you are finally seen!
