Well, food is average if one knows authentic dishes. Some of the dishes are not actually what they meant to be. For example, lamb Karahi is no where near to a proper lamb karahi. I think they need learn that onions and tomatoes needs to be chopped for Karahi rather than cutting into six pieces and throwing in. However, the portion is good, and so is the atmosphere.

Vegetarian options: Haven't a clue...N/A. Wheelchair accessibility: I would say very limited due to table arrangements. Would suggest ringing ahead to ask...toilets would be tricky. Dietary restrictions: I'm severely coeliac. I eat here safely.

If you like Indian food, this is the best place for miles! The restaurant is intimate and friendly, and they do a 10% discount on takeaway, which even on the busiest evenings takes around 40 minutes to prepare - recommend you, therefore, phone your order in advance. Garlic chicken Bhuna is my personal recommendation. Also, vegetable khorma is nice if you have somebody who prefers vegetarian options. Eating in is a relaxing pleasure, with dishes coming straight from the kitchen to the table in record time. The food is superbly cooked, and there is no sense of pressure to eat up and leave. The opposite is true. The staff are always welcoming and encourage you to take your time and savour the excellent food. Booking is advisable, but midweek, you can usually grab a table without doing so.

First time here and was not disappointed. Great variety of food and, despite the menu size, everything we ordered was top notch. It was nice to see a beer I hadn't encountered before, Bangla, which complemented the meal very well. I love that this place was fairly busy on a Monday when most restaurants, including mine, wouldn't dream of opening on such a quiet day. Spice Mahal truly represents the paradigm we should all aim for, with regular repeat customers driving consistent and new business alike.
