A friend showed me her “new trumpet” it was, in fact, her old trumpet that she had sent to Will Spencer. It looked like new and she said it was playing better than ever. So, on her recommendation, I sent my 40 year old Vincent Bach Stradivarius large bore Bb trumpet to Will. It had a few small dents and the lacquer was blistering and coming off. Will has done a superb job on it. It looks and plays better than ever. The shine on the silver plate makes that on my Eb/D instrument look dull. The lead pipe was suffering from “red rot” and so Will replaced it with a new one. The valve and slide actions are smoother than before and the little rubber rings he added onto the 1st and 3rd valve slides eliminate the metal to metal noise when the slides are used. Both the high and low registers are easier and have a better tone. The plating on the mouthpiece is very much better than the original plating and feels better on the lips. The cost of the work was about what I expected and was much lower than the cost of a new instrument. I am really pleased with the result and would recommend Will to anyone thinking of an overhaul of their instrument.

I’m currently in my final year at Guildford School of Acting, and managed to do the really clever thing of dropping my trumpet in rehearsals! Will saw me the next day and sent me back with my trumpet better than it was before. An absolute godsend!

I've known Will for decades and he's the only person I'd trust to repair or restore my instruments. The latest in a long line of jobs is a vintage Burbank Benge C which he brought back from the dead. It was in a sorry state after a hard life in a US marching band. But now it looks factory fresh, with gorgeous silver plate, and thanks to his secret sauce the tuning, sound, centring, and responsiveness have been returned to the levels one expects from a classic Benge. The instrument is such a delight to play it's hard to put down. What a transformation! It's no wonder he has a reputation as one of the finest master craftsmen in the world! Thanks Will

A true gentleman, genius & master craftsman. Will restored my Hawks cornet. It has huge sentimental value as it was gifted to my great Uncle Hugh Parry by the legendary cornetist Harry Mortimer. It has sat in the loft for over 40 years until I recently decided to start playing it again. My remit to Will was to restore it to its former glory in memory of my great uncle. Will has surpassed my wildest dreams. He has totally transformed the cornet (Herbie). It looks and sounds magnificent. I cannot thank him enough for bringing such a beautiful instrument back to life! I salute you Sir. BW Dylan

We went to Will with my daughter's Yamaha trumpet with a strange sticking 3rd valve after taking it to a more generic music repair shop with no luck. Will did such a thorough job and would not stop until he was satisfied that it was put right. Excellent service and a really nice man to top it off. Thanks again Will.
