Went for an eye test. Was amazed at the amount of people there, but was equally amazed at the quick efficient service. Eye test was extremely comprehensive with the opthalmologist making sure I understood everything that she did and why. All staff I interacted with were very friendly and knowledgeable. Turns out the adverts are right!

A very sad experience. After really enjoying the service previously I went for an eye test yesterday and was blinded with science and hidden costs. All I wanted was a perfect eye tests and then glasses at a reasonable cost, just as simple as that! I was told my prescription needed to be modified as glasses to my perfect eye sight would be too much to wear. I was then told that when it can to the price my lenses needed to be made thinner for an extra £110. Total cost for 2 pairs of glasses £445 + £25 for the eye test, which if I take elsewhere they take no responsibility for if it's wrong - Shocking Specsavers you have gone totally downhill in my opinion !!! Beware of hidden costs and no responsibility taken forcing you to pay extortionate amounts from them.

Very good service once seen but my criticism unfortunately would be that my appointment was 9am and at least three opticians did not arrive until after 9am causing a delay. Great service once seen though but perhaps the actual opticians should arrive at any work before appointment times .

Three members of my family and myself have been using the Southend on-sea branch for several years and always recieved great service from all the staff we encountered, and excellent work from the ophthalmologists. I was recently ask to contact the branch to arrange collection of a replacement pair of glasses.I rang the branchand was confronted by an extremely rude member of staff. They spoke over me continually and refused to listen to my enquiry. She would only say that I had to contact the store via the website.I gave up on the call and fortunately was served politely and efficiently by the store manager on my return visit. The rude staff member should not have any responsibility dealing with customers.

My partner went to spec savers for an eye test and they discovered a torn retina. They contacted Southend hospital and he was seen the same morning and had laser surgery by lunchtime!! Can't thank them enough for the service they gave 10 out of 10 .
