I have been to going to Specsavers for years, Lancaster then Leeds and now to this one and I'm very tempted to transfer to a different branch even though this location is the most convenient. Though the one appointment I had, the lady was nice and that's the reason for 2 stars, it'd be 3 but the customer service isn't good. I can never reach their phone line which has never been a problem for the other branches. Even the London contact lense helpline tried to reach the branch and couldnt. I've been there a few times and when you're stood around waiting you can just hear the phone ringing and being ignored. It's poor management if they're not putting up enough staff so someone can man the phone. Whenever I'm there I feel rushed, like I should leave as soon as, even if the floor is empty. My experience with Specsavers is usually quite chill and sometimes a place I spend too long in because of waiting times, and employees taking their time to give u a personal experience and making sure all your questions are answered. The lady who did my test wrote some notes on my paper and told me consult them with someone upstairs, fair-standard but I was the only customer there and I felt like I was intruding on a private gathering between friends. I was asking questions and the answers were short and not helpful. I was so shocked from feeling so unwelcome, I forgot to ask her about the trail lenses the lady downstairs mentioned. Well if the lady upstairs she read my paper, she could've briefed me on what to expect like they usually do. Had no idea when to expect them or if they'll let me know. It was first time visiting the branch and it'd been so long since I last went so I wasn't entirely sure on what to expect. Whenever I come here, I feel swept out the door or passed along for another person's problem. It's such a shame my experiences at Specsavers on the phone or in branch are usually pleasant and helpful yet here I just feel like no one wants to deal with what I need.

After seeing the reviews I was kinda dreading going there for my routine eye test but it really wasnt bad at all. Just a standard specsavers really. Was in and out quickly. If you have trouble choosing frames, look online to narrow the choices down then try them on once in store.

I would like to thank the 3 Princesses from this branch Naz, Mariam and Farida on the exceptional customer service we got and accommodating us last minute. Staff at branches like this need to be recognised, these 3 are a huge assets to the wider Specsavers family. The customer service here excels and takes the lead over anything else from these 3 amazing bunch. Also for anyone wheelchair bound this branch not only offers easy wheelchair access but also has a full wheelchair accessible toilet.

Terrible, I did my test on the first 10 days of march , on the 17th they phoned me that lenses is ready, on 18th I dropped my glasses to re glaze, on the 21st I’ve heard nothing, so I called them the lady on the phone Confirmed that my glasses are ready for collection, I went to store they checking and after while they said sorry the lady on the phone mistakenly checked on the system and it shows ready in the lab but it didn’t arrived to that store !!! It’s been about 10 days is that a joke ?? Ten days for a glasses when nowadays all retailers offer same day service, I’ll never use Specsavers again, the only good side was the optician, she was amazing and very polite

Possibly the worst optician experience. I initially posted this review but have had to amend it as it would be long and laborious due to the catalogue of errors and poor service. Please see below the list of errors from a poor substandard shopping experiance- -I was told that the glasses would be ready within a week, it was over a week and after chasing I finally got the message the glasses were ready -Upon collection only 2 out of the 4 pairs were ready -Of the 2 pairs collected the wrong lenses were fitted -when finally collecting the 4 pairs the 2 initial pairs were OK but the 2 reading pairs also had the wrong lenses which appeared to have arisen from the eye test not being carried out correctly. I am now booked in for another eyetest and have had a refund for the second pairs as I have no faith in the staff and products. Yes they apologised but took no consideration into the numerous visits due to their incompetence. They ask to fill out a customer report form for every poor review that is looked at by the shop themselves. With the numerous poor reviews Specsavers head office need to drive this forward. The staff are more concerned with up selling than paying attention to the details. I would openly encourage people to avoid this opticians as there are several more professional establishments nearby.

The optometrist who did my eye test didn't seem very interested in ensuring that my prescription was accurate. After some adjustments, I still couldn't read the bottom line clearly and things were still blurry but she seemed sure that it was good enough. Got my new glasses and my vision is probably worse than before. What a waste of time and money.

Does the job but seriously try to oversell on every little bit of their glasses. “Free” glasses end up costing a £100 which makes no sense!
