    Will happily put profit before your kids eyesight! Routine eye test for an 8 year old who already wears glasses, informed of an issue and that contact lenses were required to fix. Sold another pair of glasses in the meantime as prescription had changed. Booked an appointment for a week later for contact lenses, turned up and sent away as they had booked the "wrong type" of appointment. In the meantime 8yo is stressing about having to get contact lenses in and out etc. Turn up for the 2nd appointment a few days later, 8yo in tears struggling to get them in their eyes, to be fair, the lady helping was amazing, she then turns around and asks why we hadn't chosen glasses instead of contact lenses as they aren't really suitable for an 8 year old. If only we had been told this was an option by the optician! The original optician is possibly on some kind of bonus for selling contact lense subscriptions as they failed to mention glasses would solve the problem and went straight to contact's, lots of stress and tears for greed and profit. Do what is right for your customer, not what makes you the most £££'s selling unsuitable contact lenses for a young child when a better alternative is available! Do your own research, do not take the opticians word as final, they will happily mislead you and stress your kids out in order to make more profit from you!!

    I visited the Heaton Park store 11/03/23 for eye test as I was overdue and I had floaters in my right eye. Seeing a lady there Sumamia Ali . After testing me she was quick to realise I had a major problem and sent me to Manchester Royal Eye Hospital . She even rang through so when I got there I was dealt with quite quick. After further investigation I was being operated on finding my eye was full of blood and the retina was detaching 1 major tear and 3 smaller ones..Eye test at 9.40 and being operated on at 15.00pm under current times with N.H S im a very lucky guy i was very close to losing that eye. Now recovering thanks to all at the eye hospital and to staff at spec savers not only are they spec savers but eye savers too. Can't thank her enough Regards Gary Ramsden

    Right from my eye test to choosing my glasses, , the service was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Kate helped me chose my frames, I wasn’t sure which ones I liked best, Kate was very patient, I went away and came back the next day. There was also a problem with the frames I chose, Kate sorted the problem out quickly and I managed to get the frames I liked. As I wear glasses all the time, I needed to be happy with my choice. Thanks again Kate for your help. You were amazing.
