Excellent service from every single staff member, whether that be the retail staff or opticians. I had my eye test done but felt the prescription was too strong. After raising this concern with the supervisor, Kashav, he swiftly booked me in for a retest. My slightly adjusted prescription is now perfect. I had a very pleasant experience from the many times I have been to this store, but Kashav’s friendly customer service particularly resonated with me - he is an asset to the business!

I had an appointment at Whitgift Branch for an eye test and to purchase a new eyeglass. I was seen very quickly by the manager Mr. Akshay Patel and he took his time to explain things clearly to me, I did not feel rushed at all. He was very lovely, pleasant, patient and extremely helpful. He patiently heard my concerns and my requests and provided a very smooth service. Will definitely come back again.

Absolutely first class service from the manager Akshay. Equally impressive was the way he served the lady before who was equally just as impressed with his attitude and actually wanting to save her money by repairing her glasses

I have just spent the most disappointing and uncomfortable day of my life in Specsavers Croydon North End. I have a job, I study, run my own business and look after a baby – and I do not normally take my time to write a complaint about someone. But I could not vent my frustration caused by the behaviour of the staff. I always go to Vision Express in the same street for my eye test and have been doing so for many years and had always praised and recommended their service. It is the first time I went to Specsavers and the following happened: I had my eye test done as scheduled. During the examination I told the optician (Kiral) that the comparative images he was showing were not perfectly clear. He insisted that I kept going, which I did. I was telling him which images were comparatively better even when none were perfect. At the end – he said the test was complete and gave me the new prescription. He said it was different to what I had in my last prescription. I paid for the test and stepped out of the store. I realised that the optician did not show me a very clear image at any point during or after the test - to make sure that I was happy with my new prescription – which I always used to get with Vision Express. So, I went back in within no more than 5 mins. I expressed my concern to Kam (may be sales assistant) and asked whether I could test the new prescription as I was not feeling confident enough. He started giving me this look as if I did something wrong. He went to his colleague, twitching his two raised fingers (mockingly), saying that I wanted to “Check my Prescription”. I felt so small and embarrassed. Kashav (supervisor), who has been very nice and pleasant, helped me to check the new prescription – which as I suspected were still blurry. Kashav suggested that he will ask the optician to show me with his machine and asked me to wait. After waiting for a long time, I was told that the optician does not want to look after me. Kashav explained that he appreciated that I am within my rights and have not been difficult with them in my actions but the optician simply refused to work with me. I had the right to complaint. What would I achieve by complaining?? What about the time I wasted? I do not understand how a mainstream brand like Specsaver can allow such a behaviour and treat customer so poorly. I am frustrated, embarrassed and honestly disappointed. I don’t know how Specsaver can do this right. But I can’t believe I paid £35 to bring myself an insult like this. I don't deserve this.

I had some scratch on my glasses so I've decided to get new ones. I already been happy with one nice frame from Specsavers so I decided to go for this service. Eye test was done, it was perfect paid 25£ and after I was able to order my glasses. After 2 weeks time glasses are came, tried them but it was really uncomfortible. Even after sometimes wearing them it was still bad for my eyes. I went back after a couple of days tried to tell them what is my problem and they were very nice telling me I can have another eye test and they will remake the glasses. The prescription has been changed and they make a new glasses. Went to collect after a week but they were still uncomfortible. I really felt bad because I love the frame but how can the glasses just be so bad that its painful for my eyes. Then they said very nice staff that I should give a try to it. I did and make me feel bad the whole day I ve tried and my eyes were paining because of wearing it. I looked the policiy online and I have seen it that refund is available in certain case. I went to the shop but finally I realised I dont have the receipt. I didnt kept it because I was probably not thinking about it at all that the glasses could be ended up twice to be bad .. so the manager told me he need evidence of the transaction because he cant do me refund wihout it. I said okay no worries let me print it out from my bank. I did it and on the way back to the shop saw the manager leaving , probably for late lunch by 6pm. Arrived to the shop and a lady said that the manager went out so when he is back he will come to us. I was even feeling bad that didnt have any lunch since. I went to the waiting area, also important for the story that I was there with my toddler. I saw the manager came back but I dont wanted to disturb him. He went behind and he also seen us that we are there. He knows that we are waiting for him. Then I waited like 30min and asked the staff where is the manager? He went to check on him then came back that he is on a school call/ video call and he cant come out from the room and that the call probably take longer then 8pm (when the shop close). This was the time when I started shouting wich I m not proud about it poor guy i have been waiting for the manager and he has been seen me there and he just dissapeared probably because he didnt wanted to do the refund well its not the best for the profit anyway. Finally after me shouting my anger out a lady helped me and she saved my night sleep. Finally someone was able to do the refund. It's impossible that only one person can do refunds and that person is off from work when the shop close at 8pm. I have been waiting from 5.50pm till 6.50pm for a 1sec transaction. The team is great and everyone is kind. I feel horrible because I was shouting but really wanted this sorted out. ThankS for the Lady. But as they said I can never purchase anything again from them. Bye Specsavers! Will try vision express and see!

Recentlt went for a routine check. Staff was mixed bag... Optician was fantastic, professional and helpful. The front of house staff however are rude, impatient, and unprofessional. There's some sort of refurbishment going on right now (march 2023). There's also always insufficient seating when you wait too.
