I have called out Spartan to an intermittent hot water issue ( the heating did work fine) with our combi boiler in January. They were prompt and attended at the agreed time. However while the engineer was out and did make some tests on our boiler it did broke down. So we not just lost our hot water fully , but also our heating in the middle of the winter when possible was the coldest time of the year! I have been told the heat pump broke while the engineer did do his testing, but according to them that has nothing to do with my boiler to break down( which I do not believe, what is the chance your boiler accidentally breaks down just at the time when an engineer works on it …) And they kindly send me a bill of £270 for braking my boiler, they also quoted the pump to be replaced with the note saying this will not fix my intermittent hot water fault ( then why was it offered , not sure) for around £600 and a quote for a boiler replacement £2800, but of course even if I would decided to replace the boiler they still would add the extra £270 for basically leaving me with a broken boiler. Of course I have choose another company to fit a new boiler, but I was fighting for my right not to pay the £270, for leaving me with a broken boiler! However Spartan was adamant if I don’t pay they will go legal. To keep the peace with my girlfriend I ended up paying a “massively” discounted price of £205. But thought I will share my story as according to google, the company has great reviews which lead me to use them which I deeply regret. I definitely do not recommend them and will not used them again.

On the day of our holiday departure (Easter Sunday!), one of our toilets broke down and a heavy flow of water would not stop. I was able to turn off the water to the house, but not isolate the toilet, and didn't want to leave the water turned off for a period of time. I had considered using Spartan previously, but not as yet used them. I rang on Easter Sunday and they were able to come within an hour. The system was isolated, and the faulty part removed, to be replaced and fitted very shortly. As a bonus, we were able to get away on holiday as planned. I was bowled over by the response from Spartan, not having used them before and the friendly and business-like plumber who attended. I hope that this will be the start of an ongoing relationship.
