FAQ

What types of cheese do you specialize in?

We specialize in producing traditional English raw milk cheese. Our most famous cheese is the Red Leicester, but we also produce other varieties such as Double Gloucester and Blue Stilton.

Where do you source your milk from?

We source our milk from our own herd of cows that graze on our farm in Leicestershire, England. The cows are free range and their milk is used to produce our high-quality cheeses.

Do you offer any specialty or artisanal cheeses?

Yes, we offer a range of specialty and artisanal cheeses such as the Sparkenhoe Blue, a creamy blue cheese that is hand-ladled and matured for up to 12 weeks. We also produce a variety of flavored cheddars, including garlic and herb, chili, and smoked.

What is your production process like?

Our production process is traditional and artisanal. We use raw milk from our own cows and follow traditional cheese-making techniques that have been passed down through generations of our family. Our cheeses are handmade and matured for varying lengths of time, depending on the variety.

Can you provide information on any certifications or industry memberships you hold?

We hold several certifications, including the Red Tractor Assurance for Food Standards, which ensures that our products are of high quality and are produced safely and responsibly. We are also members of the Specialist Cheesemakers Association and Slow Food UK, which promote artisanal cheese-making and the use of traditional methods.

Delicious cheeses, tasting how cheese used to taste. If you like cheese it's well worth a visit. If you want to linger longer you can call into the cafe and have a cheese scone and a cup of tea.

I have been there many at time the staff are always very accommodating and pleasant. There's usually plenty of cheese to choose from which surprises me looking at some of the ratings, given they only open two days a week. The cafe has a nice little selection I wouldn't call it expensive as commented by one poster, obviously they don't get out much!. All in all a great experience and some of the best cheeses locally with a few National craft cheeses thrown into the mix. Great Asset to the Borough. Just off the A444

Brought a selection of cheeses from Ashby fair, all cheeses were amazing. So we went to the farm to get some more. We were second in a queue and it still took us half an hour to get served. One person was serving, the other did not a lot apart from eat the cheese, lick her fingers and then move cheese around. If our cheese had not already been cut I would have left the shop. She did wash her hands after I raised my concerns.
